I used to do that Cat but I found I was wasting a lot of time and dropping a buff in between globals meant breaking the chain.

Yeah, that's why I have the individual WS still hotkeyed so I can pick up the chain if I had to dodge out of range or smack a defensive cooldown. They just don't get a spot on hotbar 1 any more.

The ability to easily dodge conals and still get off the WS to me is more valuable than the half second of DPS I'm losing with the macro.

The only thing I'd mention is to make sure you take GLD far enough to at least get Provoke. That's not optional. You need it. Eventually you'll also want Awareness (which is like level 42 or something... sorry) but Provoke for sure.

I took GLD to 30 since I was serious about PLD at the time. Awareness is 34, and Provoke is 22. Yes I have provoke and use it whenever possible. I often have to follow it up with a tomahawk(I am trying not to move from my spot) and then seal the deal with overpower when they are close enough.

Defiance is a real game changer. It's very noticeable when I don't have to turned on(because level sync turns it off) LOL.

41 WAR right now. Doing a bit of a FATE rush to 45 to get the WAR AF(were AF always i90?) because I cbb to farm on my BLM for gear.

Mine are all i50 or i55 for the chest piece Smiley: dubious

And yeah, whenever you provoke something you have to do a high threat attack to kind of cement the change in threat. Tomahawk is a good option there. Provoke itself doesn't actually produce threat, it just briefly moves you to the top of the threat list. So once that's done you have to do something else to generate threat and stick your position there.

I play with a controller so dodging AOE while busting out weaponskills is trivial for me (different fingers.)

Provoke is a necessity but has limited use. I really only use it for tank swaps and grabbing mobs that have been peeled away if my tomahawk doesn't do the job or I'm out of TP. You REALLY want it in those situations though.

Provoke is also helpful when you have that one DPS that knows how to generate massive damage but hasn't yet figured out how to toe the hate line in the process. Especially evident in 50 capped content, like HM primals.

Callinon, I guess it was a QoL change on SE's part as the quests give i50/55 AND the i90 counterpart(that you can't wear til 50). So at 50, you have 2 sets of AF. Very nice for new comers, but for me, it's immediatly obsolete because ironworks.

Just like to say thanks for all the suggestions and what not. Just a little bit of anxiety left, but I'm nearly there making tanking my main thing.

Is the i90 stuff storable in the armoire now? I'm betting not but I would very much like to be happily proven wrong.

I'd check right now if I hadn't already logged out for the night.

Just bought a BRD body to test it (had like 30 antique mails anyway) - It is not storable and I'm sure the excuse is the same as our inventories: "It would crash the server" or something,
