Anyone know why people unknown to me would send a friend request at the same time at I'm crafting high level gear? It's always some odd name. Do they think I'll just accept? Do you think there's something underhanded going on?

If its someone with a variant on the name gilsell or gilbuy, etc, it is a newer method by which RMT's try to contact you. Its easy to blacklist someone who sends you tells, but if they send you a friend request with a variant of their website in the name, they get their message out, and you can't blacklist someone who is pending a friend request.

That means you have to go to your friend list, select the waste of space, decline the request, then highlight the name in the log, and then blacklist. Do that immediately, because if you are too slow blacklisting afterward they will send a second friend request soon after you decline.

You can prevent it all by searching yourself in the player search feature, then selecting your name in the menu and changing your status to "busy". Note you can't get friend requests or tells from anyone in this setting including people who are actually your friends.

Annoying...

Yeah. They really need to make it so you can blacklist those people, and have it auto-decline the friend invite when you do.

Or, instead of all that clicking, you can just use the /busy command :p

But yeah, kinda sucks that that's basically become necessary in order to not get constantly spammed.

You should also be aware that you can't receive party invites while /busy.

And while /busy you will automatically respond No to a ready check.

So, is /busy like a switch? As in type once, you're busy, type it again and you're not?
