#1 Feb 20 2015 at 9:53 AM Rating: Excellent
It's Chinese New Year in the Chinese data center servers and we're missing out on cute panda bear minions. Not fair. Happy Year of the Goat!

Also, 2.51 drops next week.

Weekend:
- Spam WoD until bard pants, hands, or coat drops, dangit
- Finish out current WAR book, just needs the FATES and I haven't been up to them
- Spiritbond the snot out of the three sets of gear I cranked out for that purpose

Next week:
- GOLD SAUCER ALL THE THINGS
- Start next WAR book

Supra for my Miner may be in the cards too... Field-craft III and master are holding me back right now. I need to work on desyth some artisan spectacles this weekend. I have stuff collected and made for several Supra's.
Hopefully get the drop from Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) for the relic and then craft the two items for this leg of the relic. Then one last leg...
I will craft more off hand artisans and we will spirit bind gear this weekend to meld them up.
That is allot and I will be happy to get half done..

My goals are relatively small.

Get GSM to 50. It's 49 now, and the Ixal quests should push it to the end.
Cap poetics. I started the week with 0 poetics. I can work on finishing my WHM's ilvl 120 gear (still need the belt and then a number of accessories).
Run some more dungeons for my relic. The items won't drop, but I'll keep trying to get them!

1 goal this week, but remains to be seen if it's possible or not :

1) Complete the new relic quest to upgrade either my Excal/Aegis combo or my Longinus.

This is the only thing I want to achieve outside of the normal cap currency/get WoD drop, and it is largely dependant on what the quest actually entails!

Pretty much all I've got for this week is to spam the **** out of WoD until I get the caster hat or robe

Just finished my Nexus weapon this morning!

Already had my bombard cores using seals I got doing books. Had capped soldiery when I was done with Nexus, so I was able to buy one of my four spring waters right off.

I'd like to finish the Sasuke's Blades this week, though I expect the gold saucer to f with that.

Gold saucer goals include unlocking everything and getting some Triple Triad in while waiting on dungeon queues.

Well, after having run WoD enough times this week to cap my Poetics entirely from that (if I wasn't crazy before...), I just went ********** it, I'll Greed on anything that drops and would be an upgrade for one of my jobs!". I am now the proud owner of a pair of NIN gloves. Yay?

Hit iLvl 120 bard and put on a pretty Spring Dress glamour.

Took it for a spin in Trials Roulette. Got rolled into an Ifrit hard mode learning party - I had almost as much HP as one of the tanks, lol. It took us four tries but we eventually got him down. At one point I was the last one standing and I got to used bard LB3. Too bad the healers immediately died again. Still! Walked away with quite a few commendations.

Well another weekend that felt like almost a waste for me.

Again a dungeon wont give me a drop but Tesee got Tam done..

I only got one master demateria from desyth artisan glasses.

Blacksmith lucis didn't happen, Range killed me bad. I got about 1/2 the turn ins made.
This is harder for me than master II books. Range hates me on these, even failed at 97 percent. Mostly hasty touch failed all the time. Range is messed up on hasty in my opinion..
That said we got Tesee her Carpenter master book II and supra.. She HQ her first 3 also, that is awsume for such a hard recipe.. Range likes her, she HQ one at like 20 percent. She was actually afraid she would HQ another because of HQ plywood put her at 4 percent.

I got my supra for miner too.. Only thing I felt like I accomplished but I broke down and bought the master and field craft demateria to get it.

Beginning to think that maybe I just got lucky with my 20, although I did attempt at least 60... Good news is that you always strive to make even the normal, instead of reclaming or breaking, because you can get the items back by trading in the normal item to Talan in Mor Dhona.

Ok, my update for the weekend. RNG loved me lots, then curbstomped my face.

1. I spent the weekend doing one thing. Running dungeons. Here is my log.
Started at 8 of 55. After two runs, got Sastasha HM. 9 / 57. So awesome, for paladin that took at least 10 tries.
Very next run, got Lost City. So 10 / 58.
Three runs later, go lucky and queued in progress dps into a Dzmael Darkhold run at the final boss and got the drop. Made my Friday. 11 / 61.

Saturday rolled around, ended up 13 / 70. Forgot which ones I got, but I think it was halatali hm and snowcloak.
Then four tries later, nabbed my nemesis, copperbell hm, after 14 total tries. So I'm 14 / 74 with two to go, and I am ready.
Very next run, 15 / 75. Oh man, I got hullbreaker in one attempt, I am so ready to end this.

One left, Qarn Hm. For the paladin I went 1/1 on this thing. Let's do it.
One try, nope. Two tries, nope. Three tries, nope. Crap. Four tries. Nothing. Ended the day at 15 / 79.

Woke up Sunday. This is gonna happen. Got my rl stuff taken care of, got some free time, sat down and ran qarn hm. All... day... long.

15 / 93. Eighteen runs and nothing. Last drop. One to go. 0 / 18 qarn hm. Poetic justice. RNG getting me back. Karma for kicking the dragoon that skipped half the dungeon because he went to answer the door. I don't know, but my neck hurts from holding it upright for so long...

So, thats where I sit. Honestly, I should be happy because I started at 8 and got 7 over the weekend where I only expected to get 3 max, but it sucks to be that close. 1 yard line stuff.

Well everyone says they are easy than the Mastercraft II book but so far I dont think so.. But like I said RNG was not on my side so it might just be RNG for me so far. Yea the turn in too get some of the items back is nice. I ran out of ferberites so I have to gather more. I had like 32 or 33 ferberites so my rate is a little worse than what you saw so far anyway. I think it is that one you hit at 97 percent and fails that destroys you.. High level crafting does require skill but it feels like RNG plays just a little to big of a role and it should be more skill at this point.

Two were my own fault for hitting the wrong ability by accident. I think I went to hit manipulation and hit BB instead once ouch... One I wasn't watching durability and broke it.

My goals were small because I had non-FFXIV plans for the weekend. However, snow came and plans were canceled. So, I binged.

I finished getting all my jobs to 50 and did the associated final quest for them (GSM, CRP and FSH). Until Heavensward, the only thing experience points are good for is my chocobo.

After doing a long-overdue upgrade of crafting accessories and breaking a fair amount of materia, I managed to get the first Master craft book on CUL.

Helped out my FC-mates a bunch with various clears. Piggybacked some of my PLD relic dungeons onto that, but there were no drops. I went 0/lots for the weekend.

Finished the second book for my WHM and bought a third. On the bright side, I am sometimes able to try getting double duty by doing a WHM book and the PLD quest. Running the dungeons also means I have enough soldiery for the books. Silver linings!

Darned good week so far:

Verdha now has the remaining four crafts at 12, levelling in unison. She ran her first WoD and got the MNK chestpiece right then. Hand-me-downs nudged my MNK retainer up to i100 finally. Followed that up with a CT/ST/WoD run to get carboncoat; healed CT for the first time to get the queue quicker, that was fun. First i130 accessory, and she's i116 MNK now. A few more poetics this week (unfortunately update will break my usual routine on that) and slap an ironworks ring into the other slot and that's another quick little iLvL boost. Alex now at 47/75 too, with a map in hand and soldiery to spare. Spent all her gil on remodelling her FC room, then built back up to 500k in a few days.

Waenlona has been learning all about the Elementals and has finished her Conjurer training, and gone on to unlock WHM and bring it up to where it's in step with her main, SCH. Now the jobs can share gear upgrades and save a lot of gil for the climb to 50. She's ranked up again in The Maelstrom (one to go for Expert Delivery, big store of turn-ins on a retainer). And ICly (although I don't think she's mentioned that to anyone) she's pursuing a Unified Field Theory that will tie the underpinning principles of all magic back into the Arcane Geometries. For that she'll need to understand THM too, which is something Thubyrgeim at the guild is pushing her to do anyway ((and she needs the cross-class)).

Goals for the rest of the week: keep doing the same. Smiley: grin

Really good week for me.

Finally hit my self imposed middle amount I have been trying to save.

Reached 6.5 million gil. I am halfway to being able to afford a medium house

Well I was crafting last night and RNG seemed to be with me so back to Lucis.
I was doing awsume and needed to make 11 more. Well the first 10 Went smooth and was 100 percent or very close to it and I HQ the first 10.. Then on the last one RNG decided to kill me. Hasty touches started to fail and got worse as time went on. First one was 85 because of hasty touches and failed to HQ and it was downhill from there till I was only in the 20 percentile in quality. How do you go from HQ 10 in a row to this. I had to sit in Reverant’s toll because I had to keep handing in the last one, Super frustrating.

Then finally, this one was going really bad and a few HT failed so not enough stacks but hit excellent condition After great strides.

What a relief.. I don’t think these are that hard anymore it is just more RNG. If you get enough Tricks you can use more basic touches but that is still range dependent to get Tricks. If RNG is on your side go nuts on these, if it aint walk away for a bit.

Anyway I am done with that Lucis.. Time to help Tesee with her Carpentry one.

Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard) failed me last night twice again...

Derped around mostly yesterday. I helped tank a Brayflox normal mode run for the FC and got both the Infantry Gloves (finally) and the Lancer's Ring. So I took my dragoon through there again later, in a very painful 75 minute run with an undergeared tank and a 34 archer (WHY) and got to level 36 in the process.

Derped around a bit in Gold Saucer, got myself a Triple Triad deck and a few MGPs.

Broke down and bought myself the Poetics Caster body/head pieces, having given up on getting WoD and not having anything better to spend the tomes on. So, naturally, caster robe drops at the end of WoD #aintevenmad

i'm addicted to chocobo racing. raced for so long i kind of forgot how to lay the normal game for a bit. was ****ing up all my rotations.

triple triad is cool too but i haven't delved into it too much yet. needless to say, FF14's gold saucer is AWESOME.

Lol, you always end up crafting the last 2 or 3 in Mor Dhona. That's what I had to do as well.

And no one can compete with my RNG fail on Qarn HM. It is so epic I am updating it on the free company board.

0 drops in 30 dungeon runs. It is glorious!

I had 28 on Hullbreaker Isle and I am like 24 or so on Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard). Tes keeps track.

Qarn is not a fun one to be stuck on, Hullbreaker is pretty easy and fast. Tam aint the greatest but I still need AV :0
Probably should not have saved that for last.
