The exception that proves the rule here is Kirimu Coat on BRD. Only iLvl 110 but you can stuff as much accuracy on it as you're willing to risk breaking materia to get.

mhm mhm. that's all well and good, but right after that, I said this:

"Yeah, you can meld gear to be close and perhaps in some situations better"

so I did acknowledge that sometimes there are exceptions. If your going to pick a piece to quote, don't take it out of context.

You could start out as a crafter or gatherer in 1.0 and the entire main storyline (not counting the grand Company quests which became the focus later on) did not involve combat and if it did it was focused towards dodging stuff rather than killing. You could finish the small amount of storyline they had as a crafter or gatherer. You didn't craft, gather or fight enemies since it was designed in a way every class would be able to do it.

If they actually had any good content when the game came out that showed they could support crafter, gatherer and Battle classes equally, maybe they wouldn't have to cater more to Battle classes later on. I've played early access games that had more content than XIV at launch.

I did say it was "the exception that proves the rule."

Sorry, just super stoked because I bought one and it looks so badass. Smiley: laugh
