So I've been playing this game on PS3 for about a year before it crapped out. In my time playing it, I noticed a weird issue; generally the longer I was playing the game, the more the game audio would start to desync with what was actually going on. After an entire day of playing the desync would be around 3/4 of a second. This would be temporarily remedied if I exited the game and went back to the launcher, but usually by the time the desync would get really noticeable, it would be about bedtime for me anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
Fast forward to today, where I've started to play this game on a new PC I've acquired. It's a pretty solid PC and runs this game very nicely. Problem is, I'm noticing the desync issue coming back with a vengeance. The desync builds up much faster than it did on the PS3, I've had it go upward to about 1.5 seconds in just a few hours, and it doesn't only happen with XIV, it also happens with XI, or even when I don't even have either of these games running. Only restarting the entire PC seems to get rid of the desync, and this is getting to be rather a pain. For reference, on my last computer, which was only good enough to barely run XI, I never had any desync issue on that.
Anyone have any ideas of how I can remedy this, aside from the constant reboots?
This computer is running windows 8, if that matters any. Can try to give other specs on request.
Something I've noticed about this desync issue is that I've only started to notice it happening when I started to use HDMI to connect these devices to my TV (my previous comp was on a standard monitor + speakers and like I said, it never had desync issues). I'm guessing that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem, but can't help but notice it's all started with these HDMI things.
