I got thirty-five seconds into the video and had to mute. Original Resident Evil vibe in that voice acting. You were almost a Jill sandwich!

The beach scene with the dude with the fish in his hair looked amusing.

I'm pretty sure the voice actors are just random streetwalkers from around Square Enix's LA office

I wonder how desynth will affect the economy. I'm looking forward to it. I always liked leveling on desynth more than making stuff

Overal im very excited. But to tell the truth the CT gear didnt look too impressive to me. To be honest it looked terrible lol. But I saw some other sets that look really good throughtout the vid. Very excited for front line hunts CT fights and main story. Seems like that jam packed a ton of content into this patch. Based off of the trailer I give this patch a 9.9 out of 10!

Not any worse than the idiots that crashes every market through extremely pointless undercutting.

"Captain Wesker, where's Chris?"

"I'm sorry, but he's probably.... /shakeshead"

God the voice acting was bad lol! What an awesome game it was overall though.

Concerning the trailer though. Looks very cool indeed! Can't wait to rock some socks in those battlefronts.

Hunt reward: 5,000 gil, 20 allied seals... They better scale up with GC rank or something, these are supposed to be our new Alexandrite source.

Desynth only gave a fraction of the materials that went into making the gear, so I don't see that destabilizing the economy. I just hope the 200+ pieces of dungeon drops I've saved up can be desynthed, and that they produce something useful.

Where was it stated that you WOULDN'T be grinding for it just because it's a new source? They need to keep people busy until 2.4 somehow.

At least it looks like they made an attempt at adding different things to do, rather than the same thing to do over, and over, and over, and over...

I was thinking desynth might improve the market. I'm lazy and I know I'm not alone. In a few games I've found it easier to level crafting with desynths even if its more expensive. I would think certain "worthless" items could become desirable and profitable if identified as an easy desynth item for leveling. It could also serve to flood the market with certain mats from mob dropped items that aren't worth even converting for materia.

I'm surprised they haven't expanded the treasure hunt system yet. That's a pretty fun system that actually gives FCs a reason to adventure together, but the gil rewards from hunting are pretty useless now with materia in such high demand.

It's once a day, so I wouldn't call that a grind. Right now I'm getting about 1½ a day from just doing expert/high/low/trial roulettes and daily beast tribes. It takes about 2 hours to do the whole run, fishing up a map, doing beast quests, and doing GC supply/provision while waiting on DR. I was just hoping for another 20 minutes added on for a good shot at an additional Alexandrite.

Am I the only one who was most excited over ALL THAT GORGEOUS NEW AND RENEWED MUSIC?!

Where did I hear Hullbreak Isle before? And Syrcus Tower is also familiar.

This is why I lost FF Name That Tune.

Hullbreaker's music is the song that played when we had actual boat travel in FFXIV.

Syrcus Tower is Doga's area in Crystal Tower from FFIII.

The music in that trailer was fantastic.. especially Ramuh's. The environments were pretty, the gear models look cool..

The voice acting is awful.

Seriously, I'd rather have none than have that.

The theme used for Hullbreak Isle is titled "Horizons Calling", also Stone Vigil (HM)'s theme is "The Dark's Kiss"...not sure if Tam-Tara is new or was from 1.0...not finding anything that sounds similar on the Before Meteor OST. The music playing during the private chambers portion sounds like a slower arrangement of Dorga and Unne's Mansion from FFIII and Syrcus Tower actually is a slow arrangement of the Crystal Tower theme, also FF3.

You didnt like Ramuh's voice? I thought the voice went perfect with the face and aura of Ramuh. Raubahn's voice is terrible though i agree there lol. Pretty much everyones voice acting sux. Ystola minifilia and Ramuhs are pretty much the only voices I dont mind listening to. Edit: Oh and the elder seed seer or whoever that lady's name is who run gridania. She is alright as well.

Patch 2.3, dubbed "Defenders of Eorzea," will release on Tuesday, July 8.

Quote:
Syrcus Tower, the new floor of the Crystal Tower and the aforementioned 24-player raid, will drop item-level 100 armor and Unidentified Allagan Tomestones, exchanged for i100 weapons. Later patches will add more loot to the raid's table, like Sands of Time, used for upgrading i100 "Weathered" armor to i110.

1. That Kraken looks reeeeeally effin difficult.
2. The CT armor looks really awful, but that's why we have glamour.
3. Looks like the new swimwear is made of coeurl leather?! TIme to stock up for profit.
4. The preview for new recipes struck me as interesting. It looks like all the ilvl 90 gear, but with a twist. Lots of glowys. Thinking that our new recipes may include making the glowy junk that is circling around all the people in ilvl 90 crafted gear in the video, or adding that zenith glow to weapons, hopefully. Wishful thinking.
5. Desynthesis = My new way of obtaining shards.
6. I want to try frontlines. I be needin that bard pvp armor.
7. Tam Tara Deepcroft HM looked pretty easy. Stone Vigil HM looked a bit harder from the visuals. Wonder which one is the new Brayflox HM? Also wonder about the rewards. Hullbreaker seems like Pharos Sirius / Lost City of Amdapoor in difficulty comparison.
8. Private rooms are pretty big. Prepurchased a bunch of high level indoor furnuture at low low prices when I heard the live letter. Half a retainer is stocked in the stuff. I'm gonna make some money I think.
9. Yes sir, I do want to raise a chocobo.
10. Overall, I'm pretty excited here, they added a lot of cool stuff.
