Hi all. As I understand it the majority of ZAM'ers are on the Ultros server. I am considering a server transfer, and was wondering how things are over there, specifically:

1) How is the end-game concentration in the player base?
2) How is the general niceness?
3) How full is Party Finder? How many parties on average during peak hours?

Thanks for any and all responses.

1. > Pretty strong, there's quite a few new players in addition to people slowly leveling their combat classes. So while it may take a while to get a full party for some lower content, it's not completely possible and sometimes faster than Duty Finder.

2. > Pretty much the same as it's always been in every MMO. The server has gotten a bit more chatty in some spots, but it's generally quiet. There's still the groups of elitists, smack talkers, and trolls... but overall life's good. I've only run across a small few of actual pricks (ie people joining Party Finder and then ditching as soon as they get their tomes or item or whatever even if the PF is setup for speed runs or farming runs asking for a minimum number of runs)

3. > On peak hours, usually 15-20 groups. On off peak and during the week (Other than the day and a half after reset) there's anywhere from 3-10 roughly. Whether it's anything you can or even want to do is a different story. A lot of people still haven't figured PF out for whatever reason.

I appreciate the reply Perrin. It sounds like Ultros is pretty similar to the server I am on, Coeurl, just a little larger. I am also noticing an influx of new players which is nice considering we are losing a lot to Wildstar.

This web site I found was helpful for gauging server populations:

I'm thinking Balmung or Behemoth would probably suit me better with a larger player base, or possibly Excalibur which has a high Grand Company membership ratio, only second to Hyperion. I just want to make sure I'm not going to browner pastures so to speak, before taking the plunge.

you could always create a few characters in the other worlds first to try and gauge things fore you drop real money on a move.

Balmung is locked for most the day as far as new characters go. It's the primary Roleplaying server. Oddly filled with nice people all around in my opinion. But its a pain in the neck trying to roll an Alt for a RP character when it locks out new characters. Makes no sense to my girlfriend or I that we can't roll alts on the server seeming we've already got one character of that account on there.
