Quest bugged? Escape from Castrum CentriFollow

I am on Sargentas server and attempted to do main quest Escape from Castrum Centri with my 50 BRD. Made it through the first part but could not complete second part. The party is attacked by enemy soldiers and Magitech protected by field generators. I can kill the guys guarding the generators but I cannot destroy the generators.
They are not targetable and I need to destroy the generators to get to the Magitech, I cannot abandon the quest

If I remember right the generators are not actually easily visible. They are hidden in the corners of the playable field.

Finding them isn't the problem. I know where they are. I just cannot target them to do any damage to them. Even AOE's require a target lock. Yes I have seen the You tube videos, which is why I do not understand what is wrong. Quest cannot be abandoned (even outside the instance).

If its anything like the quest in Coerthas that bugged out on Ultros early on, we had to wait until the zone was rebooted to fix it.

Best try to find out if anyone else on the server is having the same problem (there is a bug report on it in the official forum , might have been you).

If other people have the bug and report it, will probly take a few days for them to notice (hopefully).

If only you are having the problem, I'm not sure what to do, that far into the game you have likely done similar quests so I assume you are not doing anything wrong, I don't think you can remove quest items from the UI?

Final last resort option is if it is a corrupted asset or something, and then re installing, but its not too likely so only do it if you are desperate.

I did so several times. Even though youtube videos clearly show generators being targateable, I couldn't. Installed current video drivers and all. Didn't help. I did find a way through the quest though. I stood by the generator and used AOEs on the guard.

Was this the mission where you have to use the special explosives to hit the generators? i.e. is there an icon in the mission's description on the left hand side of the screen that brings up the targeting reticle?

Been awhile since I did it and I know they applied some changes to a lot of quest objectives and monsters (e.g adding invincible effect until x is met) You either:

1. Need to kill the monsters around it.
2. Use the ground targeted key item.

I'm on Sarga as well but haven't heard or seen anyone else mention this being bugged out.

There are no explosives on this one. One youtube video shows a GLD targeting a generator and destroying it with a sword. I don't know. Maybe it is different for bards but there is nothing in the quest that suggests they canniot be targeted

If you've played around with your Target and/or Filter settings in your Character Configuration, it may explain the problem. Normally when your weapon is drawn, it should allow you to target NPCs/Objects, but if this has been altered, it would explain why you couldn't attack the generators. You should be able to use a mouse/touchpad (depending on your system) to manually select the object even if you can't tab to it (or right-left-select it on a controller), but if that's not an option, then check your settings.
