Quest question Tam TaraFollow

#1 May 24 2014 at 7:23 PM Rating: Good
Ok so now I am lvl 19. I don't see any more quests and the only storyquest I have is "Tam Tara Deepcroft"
OK so I register for that dungeon and wait.
Eventually it is ready and I can go in. Now there is only one other person there, another caster (no healer). So what is a Mage and a Arcanist going to do?
I have no idea what to do here and the other one neither, so we leave.

I enlist again and again it is ready. OK I arrive there and now it is also just one person, an Archer. It gives some vague description was has to be done like 1).....etc whatever that means, perhaps it is clear to every Japanese person but it is not to me.

So anyway, the other guy is a newbie and also does not know. We tackle the first mobs we see and are wiped off the map before we can take a breath.

So is that now the whole game, from here on we have to do just dungeons the whole time?
I don't even know where my home is. Now I have been to the other two area/starting areas as well. Now where do I go from here?
Do I go to my home place and run around looking for new areas and quests?

But then, the stupid tam tara thing is my storyline quest so I have to do it.

you probably have it set to "join in progress". that will look to see if theres a dungeon already underway. If one person is all that's in it, that's all you will get. you would have to wait for people to join. Instead take off that option on the top of the duty window and select your dungeon normally.

If it's your first time doing a dungeon, I highly suggest not checking the Join in Progress option. Even if you're a DPS and DF seek times are aweful, it's generally not worth it.

With Duty Roulette, it's hopefully not all that bad these days queuing up even for DPS. I recall being in queue as BLM for over an hour back before Duty Roulette. The time of day that you're trying might have something to do with it too.

If you're at 19 and the only dungeon you have available is Tam Tara, that means you haven't cleared it to unlock the next chunk of story and the dungeon that follows, Copperbell Mines. Once you clear those two dungeons, you will have another swath of quest based storyline available to you.

SE will force you to do dungeons like this to clear content throughout the storyline, so get used to it.

Yeah, when you queue for the dungeons do not select in progress as a DPS since you will probably join one that is actually done. Too you need to remember that all dungeons before Level 30 can be heal by a Archanist, when you queue a Archanist is actually consider as a healer,

In the main story line you have to run most of the dungeons before you reach 50 for endgame content. Unfortunately as a DPS the waiting time is long 30-50 mins per dungeon.

An arcanist is considered a DPS class. They have a cure spell but it isn't very strong. At 30 when you unlock SCH It becomes a healer. SMN continues as a. DPS.

What I was referring about Arcanist in the dungeon queue system, Arcanist is consider a healer too. To be more accurate a Arcanist will be queue by the system as a DPS/Healer since that was how I level the main story as a Arcanist and 80% I was the healer in the party. All of the low level dungeons can be heal just fine with a Arcanist and after getting your second summon I even tank several times since the tank left the party. After level 30 when you choose a job then it is devided as SMN DPS, SCH healer.

That's not true. I just took arcanist to 30 and I got slotted as DPS every single time.

If you queue up as a Scholar for a low level dungeon, you'll be considered a Healer (you'll be able to summon your fairies instead of carby as well). Otherwise, Arcanists are always a DPS without fail. When considering only classes and not jobs, only Conjurers, as a class, are healers (which is why they get that nifty unicorn pet for reaching level 30).
