PS4 Upgrade PSN Code IssueFollow

I got my PS4 today and I had been super excited to get my PS3 edition upgraded to PS4.
So I got my account upgraded through the Mogstation and received a PSN code that was supposed to begin a client download for PS4.
To use the code you goto into the PSN store on your PS4 and select redeem code to begin.
Once I entered the code I was kicked back to the PS4 home screen.
I tried again and a few more times and the same thing.
I called SE and they told me its all on Sonys end and that I should call them for an eta or a work around.
The rep didnt really seem to know what I was talking about, she actually said "I've never heard of that game."
She had me send them the email from SE that proves my claim.
I have yet to receive another code, but I suspect it would only kick me back to the PS4 home screen again.
Anyone else had this happen?
I wonder, should i just buy a copy of the PS4 version and forget the free client?

i decided to purchase a new copy.
i never paid for the ps3 version anyway, se credited it to my psn.
i wasnt gonna wait around as you cannot play your ps3 account that was upgraded to ps4 .
looks and plays amazing on ps4.
