I am really curious what an upcoming update will add for CT. If I have soldiery gear on my 2 favorite jobs and Animus weapon what is there in CT that I want/need other than vanity and perhaps gearing out alt jobs? Then again perhaps CT isn't intended to be for people like me. I will do it just to experience doing.

I agree, CT is all but dead on my servers Party Finder, and I would still like to get the the Blm/Smn shoes from there for the full set, but I don't see that happening with the current state. I wish they would remove the RNG from it and maybe do a token drop from it (as much as I hate having multiple token types), so you could just buy what you need.

Maybe the gun class will be something like Swashbuckler (class) > Pirate (Job) :D

Or they don't even have to do that - they can branch from the current base classes we already have. Either Archer (ranged) or Maurader (lore) would transition into Pirate\corsair. More likely Maurader since that is the Limsan class.

Adding more base "classes" that don't really add anything ( why would we need 2 ranged base, 2 h2h base, etc) is just empty content.

There really is. My entire FC has spent the last oh, four DAYS in the housing district decorating our house, and crashing everyone else's. We took a Roedagyn brigade through the entire district, lounged on everyone's beds, sat in everyone's hot tubs, commented on their houses in /say, ran around the district in our subligars... And you'd be surprised how many folks are just... hanging out there. It's almost as busy as the cities and it's getting busier as more groups can get the npcs and stuff for their houses. I spend a lot of time tending to our gardens and fishing out front.

It's really a LOT of cool stuff to do - and we aren't even an RP guild.

Yup.

Everyone plays his or her own way... but in my opinion, people who do nothing but grind, grind, grind for gear are doing it wrong.

I basically live in our FC house. Or by the market board down the block.

Hmm, that's quite possible. It's true that the FF series games have traditionally had very large chunks of content that are not battle related.

At least I should give the mini-games a shot before judging. Who knows, they could be really fun.

That said, what I really want is 4-man light party stuff to do that is challenging at i90. I'm suggesting something along the lines of Extreme Mode Dungeons.

Like the heroic dungeons in BC maybe. That would be a really fun way to gear up for raiding.

The new FC I'm in has a medium house, and they're hanging out in their house all the time! They also farm endgame events like crazy. Games like this, simply spending time enjoying the world is as important as grinding out endgame. Again, just my opinion.

And yes, I'd love more eight-man content, too.

Sometimes I feel like that market board down by the block that borders the beach is my command center. I'm also convinced that inside our little small house lies 9/10 of the world's cool stuff.

I just kind of assume it an ensorcelled construct not unlike a golem, only built into a wall.

I spend the vast majority of my time doing beastman dailies, doing treasure maps, Fishing for Sovereigns, and sending my retainer off on his routine pilfering. As the Maps and the Dailies run me the gap between each fishing window (I don't fish in the afternoon cause I don't like the Mahi Mahi), it basically turns into:
  • Get online, say hello.
  • Go check the market wards.
  • Retrieve my crap from my retainer.
  • Send them out for an hour.
  • Go get my map
  • Go find the treasure my map is hiding
  • Sell what I get
  • Go fish up some fishes
  • Retrieve my crap from my retainer.
  • Send them out for an hour.
  • Go to the Kobold Camp
  • Go to the Sahagin Camp
  • Go fish up some fishes
  • Retrieve my crap from my retainer.
  • Send them out for an hour.
  • Go fish up some fishes
  • Retrieve my crap from my retainer.
  • Send them out for the night.

It gives me enough time to work on my network, get some stuff done around the house, watch TV, and still enjoy what I do in the game.

I think I have run one dungeon in the last two weeks, and I still am missing one of the new dungeons in 2.2 (and I won't even go into the extremes or coil...) That stuff is just too angsty for me. Dungeons where fun when 2.0 came out, as not many were pushing the "Speed run" stuff. Now that's all the majority of the people want, and I just don't care enough to spam stuff at rapid break-neck speed... If I wanted to race, I would load up GT or Forza...

Well, it somehow got built into the wall of our basement.

What I wanted to know was whether someone got it as a dungeon drop or if a retainer has been running AK without telling us or what.

Someone was out of their mind and put it up for 100k on the auction house so I scooped it up. Prior to that, I built one on Ultros when 2.1 just released and the materials were super cheap, and brought it over to Lamia and sold it for I think 300k. So those are the only two sells on the server. To make it you need 6 amdapori stone and 2 cutting oil. Last I checked, you could get one of both for 30k each. All total abotu 250k for the materials. I assume that the one I bought for us was dropped by a retainer for it to be posted so cheap.

Usually, if it was random expensive stuff, it was probably me, and I either bought it, made it, or my retainer stole it. My retainers are highly skilled =D

Will it be the return of the gun-blade?

I'm not sure how it could possibly NOT be a musketeer, seeing as the guild is already there. Or how a musketeer could really be "not what people are expecting".

Surprise! Musketeers have guns with no bullets, and instead are a new bayonette wielding melee class .

Let's be real...

The guild has been there since 2010, it can end up being Pictomancer with the way Yoshi works.

Musketeer > Blue Mage? That'd be an unexpected twist.

Ha! You really, really want your Blue Mage huh?

They do have Cannonball right? Maybe hand-cannonballs?

I hate gun-blades so I hope they don't return. Some things get better when you add them to other awesome stuff (see Chocolate vs. Peanut Butter) but I always thought the design of the gun-blade to be silly, even in a game with animated cactus' and overpowered rabbits.

I am on pins and needles for the Gold Saucer. Chocobo races... does that mean chocobo breeding? Will we be able to play mini-games against other players? Will we be able to bet on the outcome of those games? Will we get a card game like FF8 or FF9, with rare cards, and be able to buy and sell them on the marketboard? Will there be dueling leaderboards? I have a feeling this will become my new mainstay.

I never liked the gun blade either. Gun arms are alright, but a gun blade seems like it would undermine the effectiveness of the blade, either by losing tensile integrity or by compromising the balance/flow of the blade. A bayonette for poking is one thing, but for slicing and dicing the gun blade would be prone to breaking in a sword fight. Take it to a further extreme, how about a pistol dagger. Actually that sounds pretty cool, because you wouldn't be locking blades with your opponent.

I was hoping they would throw in some kind of new "class/role category" type thing. Right now we have the blue tank class, red DPS class, and green healer class.... They should put in like a yellow support class, throw brd and whatever other new class in there, and give them a new LB. ^^
