A day late, but since I always have Tuesday off, I include that in my "Weekend", so...

I want to, at some point, get all my crafts on 30. I've 3 of them that are 27-28, and the rest are all 25 except for CRP and CUL. By the end of tomorrow (Monday), I should have ~86 leves so hopefully I can get that done.

Got CRP to 30, that was easy.
Got LTW to 30, that wasn't all that hard either.
Got GSM to 30, that was way easier than I thought it'd be.

I ran into problems with Alchemist. I got it to barely 29 and now I'm down to 38 leves left. I think I'm gonna call it a day and let the leves build back up some and use the GC Craft Dailies to 'cheat', though I can only imagine what kind of crap they're going to tell me to make. Bleh.

The problem with Alchemist, is that most of the leves suck. I can't find any leves outside of Ul'dah for the Lv25 range (Ala Mihgo strangely has no craft leves at all), and the ones in Ul'dah are frankly sucky; they are all 4-5 step crafts for 1 turnin, some of them requiring 3-5 items (that you make 1 of per synth).

The only one I could find that wasn't, was the Potions of Mind, but trying to gain 25-30 on a Lv15 leve takes a LOT of leve allowances. I think I'll just let ALC sit there and get GC stuff, or if the GC quests suck in a similar fashion, I might grind it out on some of those easier recipes that you can harvest (Natron, Formula Gamma, etc).

I've got BSM and ARM on 27-28, those should be somewhat easy to get up, though I worry about how hard it will be to get any quantities of Bomb Ash for Steel, I know that part might end up sucking (which is the same reason why WVR is 28; Velveteen is a pain in the *** to work with due to the sporadic drop rates of dire webs, but thankfully I can do Linen now, once I get my BTN up to harvest Flax).

That just leaves CUL on 24, hopefully there's something reasonable in there somewhere to do.

So... I got a good part of the way there.

When I did Alchemy you could make Hi Potions in Quarrymill for the level 20 or 25 leve for triple turn ins. The materials are all gathered in East Shrould iirc as well. I did that leve up until level 40 or so when I swapped to lanolin because I had a metric-butt-ton of karakul skins left over from farming fleece. See if that's still an option :)

XIV DB up at the top of this forum is actually a very good resource. Crafting recipes and item locations are tagged in messages there.

Other than that, Google quest names and YouTube videos for dungeons and boss fights.

Gamer Escape is also a decent resource.

Actually, come to think of it, I know exactly where to farm the bomb ash. Remind me when I get on and I can go snag a couple dozen HQs for ya.

Edit: And don't be afraid to take the stash of HQs we've stuffed into the company chest. We put it there to share for a reason. Smiley: nod

Bomb Ashes are.... mined?

Oh.

Well that changes a lot. I assumed that they'd be dropped by bombs, kinda like Diremite Webs are dropped by Diremites. That'll be ridiculously easy then. That's awesome news.

And as far as Alchemy, I got lucky with today's GC Quest; they wanted Hi Potions, lol. That was an easy 30% of a level, now I'm halfway to 30.

And why are the Lv25 Leves in Quarrymill? Isn't that a Lv20 questing area? I woulda expected them to be in Fallgourd or something. But thanks for the info, now I've some idea of how to get the rest of that level if the GC quests won't cooperate.

So as an update:

BTN 31
MIN 25
FSH 24
WVR, BSM, ARM 29
ALC 28
CUL 25 (24? 25? something like that)

Everything else is 30.

So yeah, I think this past weekend was pretty good hehe.

Just updating.

Get my BRD from 38-41 and do Stone Vigil with our newbie WHM.
Cap tomes.
Clear Amdapor City with the FC so the other guys can do Expert Roulette. > we timed out on Diabolos and our tank didn't wanna go again. :/
Get some practice at Levi EX, maybe join a farm run if I'm good. > Never found a practice run.
Beat Garuda EX for the second time ever and claim the Elfin Bow. Already killed Titan and Ifrit.
Maybe a CT run or two if I have time.

On top of that we farmed some T2 and I got my Healer's neck piece. Smiley: nod Good weekend, and I'm already on my next primal weapon from clearing Garuda this week.

Quarryill - 20 and 25
Costa del Sol - 30
The First Dicastrial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena - 35
Whitebrim - 40
St. Coinach's Find - 45

There may be others, but that's the path I always use. Don't forget to also check in with the Adventurer's Guild in whichever city the guild of your craft is in, they offer an alternate set of leves than the ones at the places listed above.

Chiming in really late but my weekend goal was to take my lvl 15 wood working as far as I could.

The other classes I had made it easier to gather HQ items to synth HQ turn ins, so in about 3 days time I made it from lvl 15 to 50.

Quickest job I had lvl'd to 50

Update since there is no new thread yet

Still haven't gotten my chocobo. Turns out I was nowhere near that point in the questline, but now I got the Grand Company initial quest done and I'm hoping it happens soon. The amount of running back and forth of these quests is getting tedious - mostly because it's been the same two zones back and forth

Thanks for the tips one where to get info, it's still not as efficient as the old wiki for XI was but there's some good info out there.

I actually just completed most of this stuff a few weekends ago.

You get your chocobo 2 Quests into the Grand Company quests. You'll also have to earn 2000 Grand Company Seals. I chose Malestrom and was able to hammer out 1500 just doing Grand Company Leves in Mobary (sp?) Bay. Doesn't take long. Once you are a member of a GC you can earn seals in any Fate you do too. Not that at the entry level you can only accumulate 10,000 seals so make sure you buy your next level with seals before you cap.

After you get your chocobo make sure you go to the South Shroud so you can unlock your Chocobo to fight along side you. You can get and do that at any level although the later parts of the quest require 30+.

P.S. I actually hit all my goals from this weekend too! I haven't played much this week cause I'm obsessing over the Windows 8.1.1 update and trying to get the stupid thing to actually install!
