This is why I love the 2.2 patch so far.Follow

I'm amazed at how the smaller changes can make the largest difference.

I haven't participated in any of the new instanced content yet so I cannot comment on those.

The challenge log has given me a lot of incentives to just generally do stuff - participate in random FATE's etc. I ended up just leveling my gladiator and conjurer from early 20's to the 30's while leveling my chocobo just to fulfill the log quotas. I also ended up redoing the guildhests on said classes for the "first time" bonuses. Fun, fast, and rewarding.

The fact that the 2.0 - 2.1 myth mats are now purchaseable with company seals while simultaneously being in high demand by crafters has also opened so many opportunities for money making and my DoL/DoH classes. I end up doing my supply provisions for my crafting and gathering classes, lotting on the ilvl55-60 equipment from instances since I can turn them into seals and even doing GC leves on my gld/cnj for exp + seals (not to mention the challenge log objectives). Leveling alt classes became that much more interesting for me via this patch.

I've also started to work on training my retainers via ventures. It's a neat minigame and I much like the fact that I can either do many ventures in a short time period or a one larger venture once a day if I cannot play much. Equipping her is surprisingly addictive and while I am not making too much money at the moment the activity itself is interesting enough to do for fun. I also much like the fact that I get ventures by completing daily beastman quests, which gives me an extra incentive to complete them at lvl50.

The company seal change is very much linked to having some long-term projects to work on with my crafter and gatherer classes. Demand is high on lot of items so I am using that as a means to work on my personal housing goals for 2.3 - 2.4. There's just so many ways to earn money nowadays.

I am still doing the daily roulettes to gain some myth and soldiery tomes but to be honest the endgame combat activities have become a second priority for me at the moment. Since I haven't ever stepped into the first Coil yet (I barely completed all the hard modes pre-2.2) and all my three endgame jobs are at ilvl ~75 there's a lot for me to do once I can start focusing on those activities. I don't know when that might be, all my playtime goes to doing everything but the endgame instances basically.

The glamour system was a long time coming and I am glad we finally have it. The prices are high at the moment but I can't wait to make my roegadyn look even more fabulous. I guess I am one of the few people who bothered with dying gear and using materia pre-50 so the looks are a big priority for me.

TL;DR: To me this patch was a lot more interesting than 2.1 was and it isn't even due to the new original content introduced. The only addition that would've made the patch better was the introduction of Musketeer.

If you do the main story through Diabeetus (you'll know when you get there) you'll be introduced to the imminent creation of either two jobs or a job and a class. Unfortunately neither is Musketeer though a certain emphasis on guns in certain cut scenes this patch makes me wonder if that's a hint.

Im not sure this is a hint. Yeah they are doing something related to a certain class from ffxi, but NPC equipment/jobs can hardly be deemed proof that a class is coming soon. I think that yes, its something we will get eventually, but im not really convinced its the next step in our classes. Of course i could be wrong, but after playing ffxi and seing NPC's with impossible combinations of gear and jobs makes me sceptical.

They very much practically screamed that Yugiri was going teach everyone the ninja job.

They didn't say when, only "soon", so I'm assuming it's at the next expac rather than in the next major patch.

The fact that the FC emblems include the musketeer guild's twin guns emblem within the section of other job and class emblems leads me to believe musketeer is not forgotten.

I believe you are correct I. Assuming this. It's been said that we won't get any new asses or jobs or ishguard access until the first expansion.
