Making the most of Underused SkillsFollow

You guys might like this. A topic to share any tips you have concerning good places to use those "oddball" skills or spells that many jobs have. I'll start with my current favorite.

Aetherial Manipulation. This level 50 THM skill is an OGC ability that instantly teleports you to the side of a targeted party member. From some testing, its targeting range appears to be 20 paces. For most folks this is a fun toy they'll play with once or twice when they get it and likely never touch it again. My BLM has it macroed on my very first hotbar set.

How to make it useful: Macro it onto your Focus Target and put it somewhere you can reach quickly. Set a party member to focus. I use either the healer or the tank, generally.

The best times to use it: Who is the one person in the party who doesn't get targeted by HM Titan's plumes? The tank. Sure is nice to be able to warp to him as plumes are going off. Who is usually in the safest spot in Ultima HM when the fur is really flying? The healer. Oh, Radiant Burst just knocked me right into Garuda's AOE path.... *warp!* Garuda EX about to drop feathers on your head, and you can't get out in time? I wish there was a faster way to get to the safe zone.... ^^

After eating plumes one too many times on Titan HM trying to be clever and use Repelling Shot to shoot me away from them only for it to not trigger for some reason (even though the ability is up and I am within range to use it), I'm wary of relying on any sorts of skills (other than movement speed increasing ones) to try to propel me to safety in place of regular boring movement :/

The focus target thing is a good idea though, for those like me who were rather disappointed in that as a level 50 ability >_>

I really don't like this acronym. I'm assuming it means Off Global Cooldown, but it could also very well mean the exact opposite (On Global Cooldown)

Just had to say it.

Another bit I make use of on a regular basis: Brutal Swing stun for other-than-interruptions is especially useful in the lower level dungeons.

Got a BLM sleeping mobs in Stone Vigil and you're about to switch to number 2? Use Brutal Swing to wake it up and root it there so you can get a couple hits on it and it doesn't try to run. Did the healer just pull hate? Brutal Swing > Butchers Block is more effective than voke when you're still close to the mob. If a mob is immune to stun, like a boss, blow Brutal Swing on cooldown for more DPS. I like HS > Maim > Storm's Eye > Brutal Swing > Fracture personally.
