...it appears that most (all?) of the Lv1-15 Tradecraft Leves are pure profit, even if you buy the ingredients from the guild supplier.

I've done Blacksmithing and Carpentry this way (starting from Lv5 going up to 15), and I've taken a quick look at Armorsmithing (Armorcrafting? I can never remember what that class is called) and it looks to be much the same.

At Lv15 tho, is when that changes; you can still do Lv10 leves but the XP isn't all that great. Carpentry in particular is awesome, as the Levemete, The Turn-in and the Guild Supplier are within Sprint distance of each other. It took <1hr for me to do CRP 5->15 on said leves.

This burns through the Levequest allowances fairly quickly, but IMO it kinda beats grinding it up the old hard way and if it is pure profit, why not? Every 2-3 Leves earns about 200G in profit. Not much to write home about, but the XP is nice.

Just thought that was interesting that they give you a ton of "Free" levelups.

Normally, I just do one of every recipe up to and including the level 15 recipes, and that's enough to get me to level 12. It's after that point I normally start to do levequests. I'm not making gil going from 1 to 12 that way, but the losses are minimal since all the materials can be bought from NPCs and the prices are pretty cheap. And I conserve my leve allowances, since I'll need them for level 12 and up.

I suppose it all depends on how often one logs in and does levequests; if you're like me and you commonly take 3, 4 days at a time break then you've got levequests to spare (I've got like 70+ right now lol).

I managed to make 6,000gil (probably a pittance, but way more than I had before) while getting a couple crafting classes up to 15 so.. *shrug*
