That it's kind of amusing how the only real reason to consider getting a Vita is for a glorified controller.

I got a Vita at launch and have immensely enjoyed the games I've gotten for it, but I definitely see your point here. Smiley: nod The potential of the Vita when it comes to Final Fantasy XIV is immense, though, and I look forward to what it can do. Well, that and what it can potentially do with other PS4 games, too, beyond just Remote Play.

As long as Tes can craft remotely on wifi we will be getting one..

Yea so far the vita has not been doing well and some companies are dropping games for it already.. Still a really good piece of hardware and hopefully support comes back for it with the PS4 doing pretty good...Games that came out so far looks pretty good... Probably pick up Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remastered for the Vita also...

What do you have to do to pair your Vita with your PS4? could I use my buddy's PS4 3 states away while he is at work? :p

For the record the PS4 does not have to be left "On". There is an option that needs to be check (on both systems if I recall) that will allow you to remote start your PS4 over the internet.

you can do remote play on your pst while your ps4 is connected wireless and on standby (doenst have to be on) i play remote play on my vita from work all the time, all you have to do on your ps4 is unchecked the box that says "connect directly to ps4 (or vita) something like that under remote play on the ps4... because before unchecking that box then i could only use remote play at home but then i looked around on the internet and found that solution and it worked

I guess what I am asking is do you have to be physically located with the PS4 to first connect it to the VITA, or do you just need the IP address of the PS4 or something like that to login?

My review: Awesome.

The only Issue I had was you are unable to change the remote play controls. You can change the actual controls, but then you have to change them back when going to ps4. I had no input lag, and it was a blast. I was able to fight with no issue, and aside from using back touch for buttons, I noticed no difference from PC.

Ok just to confirm... You can only play on the vita while your ps4 is on and while you're on the same wifi connection. You cannot take the vita on vacation for example and play on different wifi connection separate from your ps4. Sorry if im dense and this has been answered, but i just want to know if a vita purchase would make sense for me. Thanks for your replys in advance.

This is correct.

Remote Play is not a stand alone option. This is just to allow you to take the game with you as you run to the bathroom, or the kitchen to grab a sandwich, or to allow someone else to use the primary television that the PS4 is attached to while you chill elsewhere.

This is incorrect. I played my PS4 from 3 states away, tethered on my phone. There is a bit of lag at this point though. I played Assasin's Ceed and it worked, but there would be random hiccups. Not smooth, but totally playable depending on your connection speed. I tried Battlefield 4 and it kind of wasn't worth it, with the double latecy. (online to online...)

The vita is for those that have family members that hate watching you play video games. My wife can watch whatever she wants and I can play FFXIV all I want. Its win win.

Exactly why I'm interested.
