As the ready check was spam-able during battle.

I think it actually made everyone slower.

Took us a good 90 minutes to slog through last night. Smiley: glare

I ran one last night and OMG that Ready check thing popped up about 50 times. Another toy for the children.
You know it is a good idea to stop people from starting ct before everyone is in. But have it pop up once till everyone readys up. Why is it popping up after you start the battle.

What has been assume is Ct seemed to settle down.. For the last two weeks all my runs but one have been awsume, No trolling and they were fast. Only one was bad with a tank that thought it was funny to pull everything in the battle field and wipe everyone or provoke bosses off tanks.

What's more fun to point out is that the Ready check takes focus upon popping for me. So when you click that you're there or not, and then close the window, it will pop back up once everyone has voted to notify you of it.

However if you were typing at the time, you now call forth 20 windows blocking your sight, and can enjoy even more fun if you happened to be typing a word with an R in the name.

It's pointless addition after pointless addition that could have been interesting, but that no one really wanted to have in the first place. Bonus points for making it something this easily abused and anoying. Let it show the name of whoever calls it up so we can use the other abused feature, the Vote Kick, do the talking for us.

Does the person who invokes the ready check also have to confirm that they're ready, or does the feature assume that they are since they started the ready check?

It was a great idea to add the ready check, but yeah it's quickly becoming the most annoying troll tool ever. A CT run I was in last night, whoever was starting the R/C would immediately pull after doing so, leaving half of the groups sitting there for a second with the huge window in front of them, while the pull started.

Camate said on the official forums that they will be implemeting limitations on the ready check feature, as it is not designed to be used in battle. In 2.2, the name of the initiator will also appear.

Problem is being addressed.

Edit - http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/147542-System-to-curb-Ready-Check-abuse?p=1898986#post1898986
The ready check limitations will now be in 2.3? I hope at least the name of the initiator will still be displayed in 2.2 like they originally said.

That same topic also said that outside of simply displaying the name, any actual changes wouldnt happen till the implementation of 2.3, roughly 4 months down the line.

Some tool was doing this to us during Atomos last night, what we did was have everyone choose not ready, then when the list came up the only person it would show as ready was the fool who was spamming it, he was kicked very quickly and we all continued.

Nice to hear. I did a ct run last night and someone was trolling hard with that,, Probably the same person who running in and starting the battle before half the people where in. I dont know why he didn't get the boot.

It seemed to have settled down for a while and people stopped popping that ready thing up . I really only saw it the first day or two.. Actually CT has been good for several weeks except maybe two runs for me now, seems like most of the trolls moved on... Some of my Ct runs are starting to feel like speed runs, it has been great.

I was in titan last night where the Bard was trolling the ready check - check. He was there, but would mark X instead of the check, just because. =/

This makes me wonder....

Do Japanese players do stupid crap like this?

Because now I've got this image in my head of the developers rolling their eyes and /facepalming at the trolls and their silly retarded crap.

Seriously, I wish people would just grow up. If they're THAT bored, then they should just log off and play something else.

I dont get people do they think this is funny or cool, its just juvenile.

Seems to me like the trolling has stopped some, but then again I have been leveling another job and other than coil with the fc I mainly been doing low level stuff. but Ct really seems to have got better.

What is nice is my bard is not even 50 and CT has provided me almost all my gear at I80 and accessories at dark light and I am not even 50 yet...

I've been seeing a lot of this in CT this week, and it drove me up the wall.

I got fed up with it and switched to a low level job to get my low level duty roulette out of the way, and ended up in Ifrit story mode where the healer proceeded to ready check the first half of the fight. Constantly. Someone initiated a vote kick, but I waited to cast my vote until Ifrit was at fractional HP, then kicked him from the group.

Juvenile? Probably. But it felt good. Honestly, I don't get ready check trolling. I really don't.

If events like CT had some random elements, perhaps that portion of the playerbase wouldn't feel the urge to make things more... interesting.

what I have noticed is if you run it earlier in the week it is better people are pounding to get through as fast as they can. The latter in the week people are just bored with it.

TauuOfSiren randomness in any dungeon or run would be cool.. Most are like a formula, trash mobs - boss - more trash mobs - boss - more trash mobs - boss..

I thought it would be cool instead of arenas in these dungeons have the bosses wandering around so you dont know when you will run into them... I am not talking ct but all other runs like WP or AK etc...

No. Trolls only exist in the western world. Try using the Duty Finder with JP only as your language preference. Suddenly it will be just like your favorite anime.

From today's hotfix.

Quote:

FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Hotfixes (Mar. 10)

A countermeasure has been implemented for the issue wherein servers were experiencing heavy load.

The following adjustments have been made to the ready check feature.

Players can no longer use the ready check feature if they have generated any enmity on a monster. If a party member who has yet to generate any enmity initiates a ready check, the ready check confirmation answer for players that have generated enmity against a monster will automatically be submitted as “No.”
A “Respond Later” option has been added. When this option is selected, the player can place a temporary hold on answering the ready check confirmation. To submit an answer after selecting to respond later, select “Ready Check” from the social menu to re-open the ready check confirmation dialogue box. If the player is still using the “Respond Later” status after the 30-second confirmation period elapses, that player’s answer will be automatically submitted as “No.”
The name of the player who initiated the ready check will now be displayed on-screen and in the chat logs.
The results window will no longer automatically reappear after a player has selected a ready status.
