I just wish that for those of us who previously bought it we'd receive a code to add the game to steam for full integration. :/

Yoshi-P really needs to stop promising new stuff until he gets out all the stuff that was promised 6-12 months ago... Then again, promising Final Fantasy VII content before the billing cycle really isn't a big surprise.

You just put your product code in, at least that's how it works whenever you buy a steam supported game from humble bundle, amazon, or any other service.

I hate Steam. As I understand it once Steam has something no legal copy can be sold anywhere else. F* Steam.

No.... this is not true.

You can still get XIV on Amazon or from the SE store, or in hard copy from Gamestop.

Except Yoshida promised us the Golden Saucer nearly 2 years ago...

Naoki Yoshida (Square Enix) - wants to be able to put anything the player can imagine into Final Fantasy XIV. Personally, he’d like to play in Final Fantasy VII‘s Gold Saucer in Final Fantasy XIV.

Except my code was for the original XIV..I doubt it would work..hell I doubt I could find it....guess I'll have to dig up my collectors edition box and look.

Oh wow..I still have my buddy pass in here...wonder if one of my friends claimed it yet or not lol

And invalid key on original XIV codes =(

My key doesn't work in linking my game to steam leading me to believe it has to be an un-used code that is needed.

Just in case anyone didn't know, the reason SE didn't want to put XIV on Steam initially is because Steam takes a large chunk of the money (either 50% or 30%, can't remember) leaving the game company with much less than if they had distributed the digital copy themselves.

If it's up on Steam, that means they no longer care that Steam will be taking a pound of flesh for each game copy sold - they anticipate making their profits back via the extra subscriptions they'll get from having it on Steam. This is probably because the game has been doing so much better than initially projected.

If I buy the game on steam, do I have to register the steam serial# on my SE account at all or can I just buy, install and log in with my current account? I have the 1.0 disc, so can't add it to steam. Thinking I might pay $15 to get the game on steam.

Isn't that marketing? It's his job to promise new things and also implement them. He's been doing great with that. Give him a chance to execute it.

Well, that sucks the 1.0 codes don't work. I'd hope they would change it in the future... But I know better than to hope. Sins of a Solar Empire got a second purchase from me for similar reasons.
