The Mad House!Follow

There is a point to this thread, so bear with me :-)

So this week myself and my FC finally managed to save the gil for a house :-D We are a small FC (10 members, 7 active, 3 occasional visitors), so we decided a small house would be more than enough for us, especially with the planned increase in size. We saved for the house by meeting up every Sunday and running Peisteskin maps, and depositing all the gil straight into the company chest (4 of us gathered maps and shared em out all week). Doing this we averaged 300-500k a week (not including smaller personal deposits), so took about 2 months to save.

Now to the point of this...

The house purchase and subsequent decorating and fooling around is far and away the most exciting and enjoyable experience I've had in this game so far. It was the 1st real experience we have had as a FC which was solely ours, and not diluted by some of the more negative individuals of the community (like our Praetorium run was, 6 of us went, all in it for the story, and we cycled through dozens of people avoiding non SR groups, ruined it). Due to the fact we are such a small FC and have known each other for years from XI, we have literally not left the house unless its for essential errands, even running our instances from inside the house, preferring instead to use the house as somewhere we can have a laugh, but somewhere which is just ours.

I was probably the most apprehensive in the group about the house, as it is a lot of gil for a vanity space, but it has really added value to the experience for us, as it was a shared goal and the reward at the end was ours and ours alone, and that feeling was incredible.
