The directions seemed straight forward: "Have an account that is set to inactive. Log in."

MogStation confirms my account is inactive, yet when I attempt to log in the game tells me I cannot because the account isn't registered. I played all through 1.0 and the first month of 2.0, so my account is definitely registered.

Anyone have a hunch as to what I'm doing wrong?

Wonder if you had to pay for a month? (of 2.0 that is)

I'm guess that's probably the case here.

Not mad, just wish I'd have known that before I set aside some time specifically to play. Oh well.

Yea I was in 2.0 and was playing on FFXIV in December and just cancelled a few days ago and now says I am not registered even though it's the same client I was playing on back in December and everything. Can't even contact support to complain other then some stupid message no live service on the weekend which makes having a free weekend where I can't log in pointless if they won't let me log in.

I was getting the same problem, but i found the fix.
You actually have to go to the Mog Station and reactivate your account. When activating it it will show "None" as the payment method, and your account status will still be shown as "inactive" with the option to setup a payment option, however you will be able to login.
At least I hope that was correct, it is was, kinda disappointed SE didnt note that you would need to do that anywhere.
