I just noticed that there is going to be a trial return campaign from the 11th to the 13th...

I might return to check that is new in the 2.1 patch

Just a question: I used to love ffxi pre-abyssea partying structure, I believed that the cooperation was the vertebral column of the game... nowadays this is old school and snobbed by who hates grinding, etc... Has anything moved in this direction in the past months?
tks

So you like a level sync party with 6 members, pulling and killing a mob? My friend that is there in duty finder. Don't feel like shouting for a 6 man party? You can always do fates. 6 man party pre level sync in FFXI was a pain in the ***** It was nice at first but after a while in grows tedious shouting for hrs for a specific job to party with. I don't know what is there to like about that type of party structure. But different strokes for different folks. To anwser your question, nothing as really changed.

With the addition of Duty Roulette and the Recommendation system in dungeons, parties in dungeons are a lot more chatty and friendly. It's not quite FFXI levels of cooperation in an exp party, but the entire experience is waaaaay more fun now that people are being nice to each other.

Last night I told a couple of guys (I'm assuming they were friends) in my DR Tamtara group that their names were making me hungry. Free Chipotle and Killer Tortuga. Everyone got a giggle out of it. I had a really delicious Tortuga rum cake once.

Well, I was WAR in ffxi and I must admit that post-60 it was very hard to find a party... but once you found it and played well... well it was rewarding, because you could see that getting there was a matter of earning it, almost every area of the game was a risk it- take it.

However changing the subject- I messed up in changing my char appearance when I passed from 1.0 to 2.0 and would like a second chance.

I see that if I buy a subscription renewal, I will receive veteran rewards,

Quote:
You’ll receive the following rewards: 30 day(s)
View details of the Veteran Rewards.

and at rank 1 I get fantasia- which is a appearance modifier.
Could you confirm this? That I can change my character again though I've already taken advantage of it during the 1.0=>2.0 upgrade

If you log in to the MogStation you will see this...

You can either click the link where it says "View your next veteran reward here" to see what you're eligible for next or you can look underneath "Received Veteran Rewards" and it tells you what you've received already. If you burned the one you got from 1.0 then the first 30 day subscription is your only option outside of just re-rolling or doing the salon thing.

I think unless you are talking about bigger changes like race/gender and such there is now a barber (in the game) that you can use to alter hairstyles and that sort of stuff.

Correct. There's a quick mini quest that starts in Limsa, then you can summon them from inside the inn room.

You cannot change race, size, gender, or skin tone, but you can alter you appearance in most other ways. I've gone through two new hairstyles since this was added in. (Right now I've got on pince-nez glasses and Miquote war paint. I look pretty badass.)

It should come in your mogmail, might take a little while, but you should not have to wait 30 days afaik. It is like with longer subscription bonuses, if you buy 90 days you get the veteran reward for it right away.

Once a day, you get a massive xp bonus from signing up for low level (and high level) duty roulettes. Try also to sign up for a guildhest duty roulette as well, that first run usually nets you a good amount for the time you are in there. Dungeons on your job level were also upped to give you at least the same amount of XP you could get from equivalent level FATEs. They also upped the xp you get for going battle levequests as well. So now, everyone is not stuck forced to do FATEs to level. Granted, if you run into a FATE, stay because the xp is good, but it is no longer the preferable method.

I think they did for a while but honestly I almost quit the game last night and returning to FFXI.. I ran into the biggest a-holes ever in duty finder and worse I ran into the same group twice. Allot of endgame does not have the recommendation and I really think a- holes will be a-holes and there is nothing you can do about it unless SE kicks them..... The fact you can not get a gm in this game too stop this crap.. Now they run in pack and abuse the boot system... Really think the last few weeks it is far worse than even before.. I dont know if this is WOW thing or what.. But I am honestly sick of DF now.. Seems low level dungeon are still ok but not with end game because most of them are beyond this stuff now..

Try doing king moogle, ct or titan and see what it is like. Ct aint as bad as the the other 2..

What happened to respecting each other. Little kids hiding behind a KB ... Honestly I am starting to think this game is worse than halo or cod for rudeness sometimes.

I am also not one to swear in the forums but these people crossed the line last night on what is even close to acceptable behavior.

1.0 players got one for free due to the expanded features of character creation. Since they added more to character creation I think they felt it was necessary to allow old players to get in on the new features. The second fantasia was more of a mulligan for new players who had all the features, but still weren't completely satisfied with their looks.

The "second fantasia" you speak of was given as a player reward for signing up for 30 days (I believe 30 days)

talking about rude people, i was quite happy with the italians in excalibur, bt ended up with some rough ppl...
when they emigrated to ragnarock I stayed behind.... so... would excalibur as legacy server be a good choice for someone like me that values social > gameplay?

by the way, I'm in Gmt-3

I remember what the requirements were to receive them, I was just expanding on why they were granted twice.

When this game first launched, server selection was limited and you had to wade all the way through character creation before you could even see if the server you wanted was available. With fantasia, I could tell friends who were new to the game to skip through character creation just so they could see if the server they wanted was available. Once they got to their destination they could change their random appearance to something they liked on their own time.

I'm assuming it worked because I never used it, but the benchmark was supposed to have the ability to store character appearance and allow you to load that into the full version of the game. I'm a carry-over from 1.0 so I already had the appearance I wanted, but I thought that was a pretty slick feature. Props to SE if it did work, but I don't think a lot of people knew about or took advantage of it.

You could also save characters you'd made in the character creator before actually choosing a server. So if the server you wanted was blocked, you could reload your previously designed character infinite times til you get a server you wanted.

$25, I think? Not sure what it is in other currencies like euros though.
