Haukke Manor HM boss questionFollow

Something that my FC and I have noticed ever since we got Haukke on farm:

The difficulty of the bosses seems to be somehow linked to the Wood Wailers that you can save in the beginning. I don't know if its their overall stats or just their HP, but if you fail to save one of the Wailers all the bosses seem to get some kind of buff.

This wasn't a one-off event, but I'll relate the most recent from the other night. We did four Haukke runs. The first one was flawless, zero wipes and a 29:00 completion time. The second one one of our DDs DCed and we failed to save the second Wailer at the start. We then proceeded to just BARELY clear the first boss after a very hard fight. We always kill him before the giant skeleton appears, this time we just couldn't do it. We then wiped 4 times on Ash because his adds seemed a hell of a lot stronger. Then we wiped three times on Halicarnassus because the 2 Maidens seemed to have too much HP.

Edit: The two runs that followed we again saved all the Wailers and aced all the bosses in one try.

That's a really interesting theory Dark!

Wonder if this can be tested?

That is an interesting theory, the first time I did this dungeon we once shotted the whole dungeon, and I am pretty sure we saved all the wood wailers.

Subsequent runs that I've done though the DR we lost one of the Wood wailers and stuggled with the 2nd and last boss.

Don't know though, from my experince there is a lot of other factors involved considering it was though the DF, would be interesting to test this out though.

If it is actually true that's kind of a neat concept.

Wouldn't be unheard of for an SE strategy, either. They pulled that all the time in XI.

This is 100% untrue., can confirm that killing/saving them doesnt affect boss difficulty. My first run we failed to save any of the wailers and 1 shoted all bosses same as when I save them all

This mechanic is easy if you know it.

Mark the Maidservant that spawns on the back left side of the room, by the door, Maidservant #1 and the other one #2.

DPS #1 until 5% health. Then switch.

She will always, always suck in the one with the lowest health first. the Maidservant that spawns left side of the room by the door (looking in from the doorway) first.

Giving you tons and tons of time to DPS #2 all the way to nothing. You will take almost no damage and have plenty of time.

Using this method, and saving LB for the final Add, will win it every time.

EDIT: We labeled them differently than usual in a run last night and died. Then we figured out the above. We tested it in a second run as well.

Just for clarity, back left side would be Northwest corner? Does the other one spawn in the Northeast? I've only done this boss fight once, and I wasn't paying close attention to where any of the adds came from.

I've only run Copperbell once and that was a pretty comfortable clear, after a bit of guidance on the bosses. I haven't run PS at all, but I can't imagine its difficulty varies greatly from Haukke. It's just a matter of mechanics being unfamiliar. The boss fight in PS sounds like it catches a few people out, and that's not a bad thing.

Pharos is far more difficult than either of the other two. There are many groups that can't even get past the first boss. Heck, even the second boss can be a challenge to new groups that don't understand the mechanics, and Siren is an absolute nightmare if you have a healer that doesn't cleanse people and top off HP to avoid the charm. Honestly, the massive jump in difficulty from Haukke and CM to PS was really unexpected and surprising. Also, PS is far longer than either of the other two.

I'm tempted to not unlock Pharos Sirius just so I don't wind up in it doing High Level Duty Roulette.

That's right. (From memory) The tanks even in PUG generally tank the boss on the south side of room. From what we have (hopefully) confirmed, the North-West Maidservant gets eaten first, every time. Just don't force the pull-in by getting the #1 mob to 0% health, switch at 5%, giving you plenty of time to DPS #2.

With my buddy tanking, he had no problem doing this:

Mark NW #1 > Shield Lob #1 > Mark NE #2 > Provoke #2

Then Flash > Flash > Flash

So he actually had time to Mark them both, and get hate on both. For PUG group, if the tank will simply Provoke #2 (North-East) that is plenty. The Maidservants do almost 0 damage, so if #1 is left roaming around, even smacking the healer, it's no problem.
