As mentioned previously on the official forums (http://sqex.to/-e5 ), the pricing of land for legacy Worlds will be adjusted in incremental steps to match the pricing of the following non-legacy Worlds (Hereafter referred to as Group A):

Bahamut/Behemoth/Cactuar/Carbuncle/Chocobo/Diabolos/Fenrir/Garuda/Gilgamesh/Ifrit/Leviathan/
Mandragora/Midgardsormr/Odin/Ramuh/Shiva/Siren/Tiamat/Titan/Tonberry/Ultros

Pricing for the following legacy Worlds is currently set at 2.5 times the amount of those in Group A (Hereafter referred to as Group B):
Balmung/Excalibur/Hyperion/Ragnarok/Sargatanas

The final price of land for Group B will first be reduced from 2.5 to 2.25 times the amount of Group A. Over the course of the next week, the price will be reduced from 2.25 to 2 times the amount of Group A. Over the course of six weeks, the final price of land for Group B will continue to drop until it has reached the same value as Group A.
* Adjustments to pricing will apply to all plot sizes.

Pricing for the following legacy Worlds is currently set at 5 times the amount of those in Group A (Hereafter referred to as Group C):
Aegis/Durandal/Gungnir/Masamune/Ridill
The final price of land for Group C will first be reduced from 5.0 to 4.5 times the amount of Group A. Over the course of the next week, the price will be reduced from 4.5 to 4 times the amount of Group A. Over the course of eight weeks, the final price of land for Group C will continue to drop until it has reached the same value as Group A.

Furthermore, the final price of land across all Worlds will be re-evaluated at some point in the latter half of January. Please be advised that the pricing of land on all Worlds will be subject to change even after the above adjustments have been made.

Cant say I am suprised, not sure what they were thinking...its not like our servers make 5x as much gil as non-legacy servers.

And with no current benefits for housing, im even less suprised so few people have jumped on board the over priced housing train.

I was a little confused at first by what they were saying, but here's what my understanding of it is:

There's 5 price levels for servers with multipliers of 1x, 1.6x, 2x, 5x, and 10x (5x and 10x are the legacy)

The 5x (B) and 10x (C) will drop to 2x (A), no word of what happens to 1x or 1.6x.

The 1x and 1.6x will reduce their price based on the regular schedule. These reductions are on top of the regular weekly price reductions.

Pretty sure this is just the regular interval of price reductions being displayed here, and not an adjustment on SE's side.

It comes across to me like they're saying "Suck it! Prices have dropped by this much already so you guys can STFU" basicly. :/

This is not the regular one.

" 0.14% every six hours", so every day would be 0.56%

For legacy to go from 2.5 to 2.25 would be a 10% drop and would have taken 18 days.

They are talking about droping the price from legacy level to match non-legacy level. On top of the current 0.56% a day that non legacy will be dropping.

Think of it like this:
40 days from 2.1's launch non-legacy servers will have dropped in price ~22.5%
40 days from 2.1's launch, legacy servers will have been shifted down 2x from 2.5 -> to 2.25, then again from 2.25-> to 2.00.

So what ever price house you are looking at on a non-legacy server, might have gone from 5mil -> 3.9m, then on a legacy server it would have gone from 12.5mil -> 7.8mil

Still, 10% off the price doesnt make it any less insane. It still feels like a kick in the nuts.

What the majority of us were looking for was something along the lines of 1/10th the price, not 9/10th.
