Just because I'm nice, Follow

Doesn't mean I'm fishing for Commendation. I'm nice because I'm nice. Why would anyone want to not give advice to someone new, give a tip, or just talk? Silent parties are boring for 30min. I get it, maybe you don't have a lot to say but comment on what's going on then. Just because I do, it doesn't mean I'm 'fishing" for commendation. Do I want them? Yes. Don't take my kindness as fake-ness. There are fake people out there but I believe there are more genuine people out there. Regardless, fake or not, they are still helping, right?

One more thing. Just because I'm a Tank, that doesn't mean I deserve them nor do I expect them. If you feel I was above and beyond the other members in the categories you deem worthy, then hook me up. I give them to people based on different things. I gave a Dragoon one because he took an annoying add without anyone saying anything, while the rest of us moved up the path. I gave a BLM one because of his awesome sleep control and another because he gave tips to me and one other to make it go faster.

Edit: I was accused of fishing and it made me kind of mad. So here I rant. Sorry but I think there are more than just me out there. Thanks for reading. /rantoff

OK, smart guy... <Insert sarcastic remark here>! That's kind of funny, actually.

Tbh I have the same issue lol. I entered a Brayflox DFR as my Paladin, did my business as usual, remembered my manners etc etc. Got 3 commendations out of it, to which my fellow FC members (who I know well and knew were being sarcastic) started saying I spent the whole run doing /grovel and /blowkiss for the commendations. Nope, just tanked like a boss lol.

Do i get them mostly on Paladin? Sure. But that's because that's the job i play most.
I feel that should be weighted in atleast. If you're in a 4-man group, and you dont get any commendations, you cant simply asume the tank or the healer got them all.

I personally give them to whoever functions best. There was a bard who sacrificed some DPS to refill the party's MP and TP at crucial times, so he definitely deserved it. Healer doing a last minute save or a crucial mid-battle raise on the last boss, definitely deserves that too.

If you're good at your job and helpful, you're getting a commendation. If you havent received one yet, you shouldnt be placing the blame at the Tank or Healer. You should be looking at yourself. It's as simple as that.

Don't care if fishing or not and some go way over the top. If you can manage to perform well at your job you already got my commendation. If you try to kiss *** (even if being fake) AND do your job well..... you still get commendation from me. Even though I find it VERY funny that tanks went from princess to .... a different kind of "princess" that will kiss ***.

You also get a position at my "free company" where we give out "commendations" to exceptional employees, but never raises. KISS IT

As a tank myself 48 War, I'm just going to do what I always did. Not be a douche. Some parties are talky and take it slow, some wanna get **** done fast and not say a word. I don't really care, be nice to people. It's a shame on the community that this commendation system had to happen in the first place. I was always happy with the simplest "gj" or even a run where nobody ******* about me.

I don't even know what commendations do. You get the sword of *** kissing after you get so many?

@ OP, It would really suck if you were just doing things the way you always were before this new system got implemented and are now getting accused of "fishing."

Also, I'm GUILTY as hell of accusing a tank of commendation fishing when I played DD in THESE very forums in one of my little threads below.

Well I did a bunch of sex /em with random people in my group and got accused of fishing for commendations. The reality is, I'm just a hoe.

I'm well aware of the commendation system, but I don't care if I don't get them. If I do get them, it makes me happy. I am currently a 42 PLD, so I think I will be getting a lot og them by default if I just do my job well. I also feel like I will be giving a lot of them to the healer, but I could definitely see giving one to a DPS who stood out. It's just so hard to watch what the DPS is doing while still doing my job. It's easy to tell if the healer did their job, because I didn't die.
