Long Time FFXI Player Thinking of Trying XIV OutFollow

So as the title says, I'm thinking of playing FFXIV. I love FFXI but my friend and I are ready to try something new and we saw the vid with all the FFXI jobs and were intrigued. Is there an online store we can purchase and download the game from? I read a few posts here that referenced a 2.0 version coming out, which I do remember reading about. Will that be out soon?

Also, last I heard the game was still very hard to run on laptops and lower-end PC's like FFXI can be. Does anyone run on a laptop and if so, can you share your specs and experiences? Wouldnt mind getting a new laptop if I had to since I'm due for one soon anyway, but hoping I dont have to drop an inordinate amount of gil to do it.

Would have found your answer in any of the other dozen threads exactly like this one.

Wait until 2.0 is released to find out if it'll run on your laptop. Until then, no one knows.
