Quest problem..Wizard Mushrooms don't appear!Follow

I can not finish the quest for wizard beating the geomancer to collect mushrooms! Its the feeding the storyteller quest and I have beaten the geomancer and the mushrooms were not there...nor does the geomancer reappear for me to even try again! Anyone know why?
