WAR Endless Free Trial

We’ll soon be lifting the 10-day restriction on our Free Trial! You'll be able to enjoy the trial experience and New User Journey for as long as you like!

We hope you’ll agree that Path of Conquest is one of the best updates yet for Warhammer Online!

Um... anyone have any clue what that actually means?

I can't find anymore info about it on the main WAR site.

So I don't play WAR, so I could me wrong on this on so many levels.

If the free trial is like WoW's, there are limits are there not?
I could play WAR for free, as long as I want, but be stuck with them limits.
IE: Only being able to get to lv20, only able to have so much gold, may I can't join a guild/craft/group.

Wow - an endless free trial? I might have to look into that. See if there is a catch.

It's free to play up to lvl 10, and some restrictions apply such as being unable to use the mailboxes, etc. You can upgrade if you so wish, of course.

As the above poster said, you can level to 10, and enjoy the Chaos/Empire Tier1 area. I haven't played it, but my friend is trying to get me to. He says now that they've cut the number of servers, the RvR is always active. The cool thing about the trial is that you can basically "twink" your character for tier 1 content and enjoy it until you're fully decked out in all the tier has to offer - public quests, "scenarios" (battlegrounds) and open RvR, each of which earns you xp, renown and gear. Sounds cool ... too bad I don't have time for an MMO right now :(

It's a nice thing if you ask me. I never bothered with the 14day trial because depending on many things I'm likely to end up only seeing 2 hours of play in a starting area due to time restrictions.

So I got into it and had a look.

Previously I played WoW. I had quit because they ruined PvP servers by allowing people to have chars in both alliance and horde at the same time.

I had a first try of WAR today.

It looks like WAR's design was made out of a plan based on "How to do correctly everything that WoW did wrong". So it has none of the flaws of WoW. Sadly, at least at first sight, it seems to have missed the part of "How to do correctly everything that WoW did correctly".

Graphics are totally better than WoW, no discussion.

The starting areas too. You start into the game seeing a War and battles, (in contrast in wow you're hunting down wolves and pigs that are just wandering about).

The class mechanics look pretty good.

What has disappointed me so far was that I made it up to the first public quest and it seemed too unchallenging. I know I shouldn't expect a serious challenge on a starting level but when you're learning a game trough trial and error you still expect success and failure based on doing things right or wrong.
