Just out of morbid curiosity how many of you are currently playing another MMO at the moment but will be devoting the majority of their time to start playing Warhammer?

I used to play FFXI and I'm currently playing EVE but if I can coax a few of my friends to join me I'll be in Warhammer full time.

What say you?

Was playing FFXI for a long time, took a break and played WoW for abit and then switched back to FFXI. Got really tired of all that "endgame drama" in both games. Fact is FFXI was great at first but eventually i lost the flavour for it. The list of reason's why was endless... Deleted my PlayOnline account and content id's to get ready for WAR. I can't say i'll loose the flavour for WAR at all because it's a game that tailor fits me. Probably the best way to describe it in my case. I knew something like this was coming and finally WAR is here. I'm not playing anything atm because i haven't found a game that catches my eye and waiting another 9 days shouldn't do too much damage. Have been looking foward to WAR for a very long time as i'm sure some of you have too.

I've known about WAR for a while but I can't say that I was looking forward to it. I don't mean that in a bad way. I was just indifferent. However once I saw that it was indeed going to be released and that it was very true to the table top game I was very excited. I play 40K more than good old Warhammer but either way I'm in on the story.

Holy crap, it's GrumpyWookie!

I switched to WoW after the early days of FFXI, tried AoC after WoW, and am now gearing up for a full-time foray into Warhammer. I'm kind of excited because I haven't even played the beta, but what I've seen/heard from people, it sounds promising.

In my early days I played FFXI then switched to WoW. I'm really interested in War right now, but I will say that the group heavy approach does bring back some memories from my FFXI days.. Depending on what that means to you of course.

Long-time EQ player that will be making the switch. My regular grouping friends did some MMO hopping (I joined them in WoW for a bit) and did the smart thing and invited me over to see the game during the preview weekend. Then they found me a preorder box which the local game retailer has been lame about (not in system for days after release then suddenly sold out).

The trick for me will be finding a class I like. I've probably enjoyed Beastlord, necromancer and ranger the most in EQ over the years and Hunter and Priest in WoW. Not sure there is any pattern to that...

Still playing FFXI, and intend to keep up with it.

Been following Warhammer Online for over a year now.

I have no idea how I will like PvP, RvR, being locked into one career, and tree style progressions. I do intend to find out.

I'm also playing FFXI and don't plan to give it up, especially since the friend I'm going to be playing WAR with gets off the game early, leaving me plenty of time to log in and putz around with other friends on FFXI afterward.

I do plan on giving WAR a hell of a good go at the start though, to get myself well entrenched and acclimate myself to my new 'escape.'

I'm hoping for some good, entertaining times :D

Playing WoW currently because WAR isnt up yet.

When WAR goes live I will devote a lot of time leveling up various characters and trying to expereince the game.

I am not planning on cancelling my WoW subscription and I will be buying WotLK when it comes out too.

I will, on the other hand, be cancelling my EQ2 account and I cancelled my Conan account two weeks ago.

I have no problem managing my time between WAR and WoW, especially since WotLK wont be out til Oct/Nov.

I have almost ALWAYS had at least two MMOs subs going at the same time... so WAR and WoW will compliment each other nicely.

I wont talk about the lifetime sub I have for LotRO though... Smiley: wink

If you are planing on playing a lot of WAR hit me up in a PM. I'd like to get a good group of players together because the more the merrier. Best to plan ahead and make sure like minded peeps end up on the same server. I'm playing on the Good guy side so if you plan to be a follower of Chaos that's fine. I need good foes on my server too.

The good guys? So you're Destruction, right? ;)

There are a couple threads up top with server selections for Order and Destruction. We don't know yet if those are going to be the Live servers or what Rulesets they will have, though.

I'm planning Chaos-side on Abhorash for mains, but I also plan on putzing around a bit Order-side (I require a Witch Hunter character >.>;). Maybe the server my friend chooses will end up being yours.

And if not, you can help me with this witch hunter gig. I like the musket off hand weapon so I'm going to give something other than large brainless meat shield a try.

I'm currently playing WoW. I wnat to check out WotLK and the Death Knight, but most of my time will be devoted to WAR. I just recently found out about WAR and was pleasantly suprised that Mythic was doing it. I beta tested /played and was a huge fan of DAoC. I like the idea of "Epic" battles, hence RvR is exactly what I'm looking for in a MMO.

I'll try to both play WoW and WAR at the same time, though I must say I think one will eventually lose to the other.

It could be WAR, or it could be WoW.

Is this the same Wookie that way back in FFXI days wrote a story about a friend getting a sticky mouse trap stuck to his shirt with the mouse still attached and screaming like a little girl?

If so I will definitely roll an alt on your server on Order side. My main is going wherever TFS goes. But man your stories back in the olden days on the FFXI Warrior forums would leave me literally ROFL!! And the advice you and Quor gave helped a lot also.

I was back and forth between D&D Online, LoTrO and WoW. I've been waiting for Warhammer for almost 2 years now, so there is no way I am going back to those depressing worlds.

Started on FFXI online as a newbie to the MMORPG genre, stayed there for a while but got annoyed of the long wait times to find a party to lvl with.

Made the switch to WoW and have been playing that for a few years, i have quit WoW and gone back to it during that period due to lack of another MMORPG that interested me, not to say i havent tried any ( Tabula Rasa, AoC, SWG ), but finally that wait is over and the bonds can be broken.

I used to play Warhammer (Greenskins & Ogres) table top so naturally when i heard about this game i have eagerly been waiting for it.

As my sig pretty much says.

I played FFXI for over 2 years. Had 2 75s and brd 60'ish, rdm 60'ish. I'm currently playing WoW.

I'm certinally coming over from WoW.... for the time being anyway. Not sure what one I'll be playing more. I have WoW raids on Tue/Thur/Sunday. I'm thinking I'll be playing WAR EVERY night off (so on paper I'll be spending more time on WAR lol).

I've been looking for the next big "WoW killer" game. Don't get me wrong, I'll still play both if I like WAR (which I think I will)... but I still have raiding to do on WoW.

I've played AoC, LotR, Vanguard... all of which for about 2 weeks. Just could not get into them.

I'm switching from WoW. If WAR is as much fun as I anticipate, I won't go back. Might get WotLK, level up the 60s and 70s I have and try to find a buyer for the WoW accounts. *shrug* Or not, as long as they're not active they cost me nothing to keep.

Well heres my story.
I played FFXI for about a year. I got my BLM to 75 and a bunch of crafts leveled up before ToAU came out.

When BLU was available I brought it to 60 in a short time. At that time the whole inflation was going and I was waiting hours for parties when I was leveling lower jobs when I wasn't leveling BLU. It was time for a change.

I tried a few but nothing was that great. Then I tried WoW for about 6 months. I got my Rogue to 70 and did some end game stuff. Well long story short our guild had a huge fall out and after that the game wasn't appealing to me as much anymore. I did do the battle ground stuff alot but that got boring because the armor wasn't nearly as good as the raid armor you could get and I already got the whole 70 rogue set from BGs.

So I went back to FFXI and thats where I've been for the past 6 months. For the first 2 months I did nothing but crafting and fishing. I managed to get my fishing from 28-50 and all my crafts about 20 except gold alch and cook since they were brought up to G45, C58, A73 in the first year of playing. I also got some jobs leveled to sub job level (37).

Campaign was good I got all the Cobra gear for my BLM except for the boots and thats where I'm at now trying to get enough allied notes for them, currently at 40k notes. For the past week I have had no urge to play FFXI waiting for WAR to start. Seems like everyday I'm checking the WAR website to see if any new news is up, lol.

I'm hoping I'll like the PvP like I did in WoW, ecspecially since from what I've read is you obtain the best gear from PvP RVR stuff.

Well the whole point of my above small incomplete FFXI resume is that I put alot of time into it so it's hard to let it go, but I did for WoW and WoW was fun but it lost my interest. I was scared I lost my FFXI toon but since I didnt delete him and his buddies and just canceled the subscriptions (Content Ids), it was a breeze to get FFXI going again. Now I know how its done and I don't have to worry.

So now here I am bored as hell waitng for WAR and no urge to play FFXI. I should be getting my BLU to 70 currently 69 and the Cobra boots but like I said there is no urge.

As long as WAR can keep my interest, it will be my new home. If it doesn't then I'm not gonna get so amped up over another game for along time and I'll return to FFXI and finally get all my jobs to 75 using /BST and campaign if I have to, lol.

sorry, hope this is better GYFFORD :)

Well, have been doing open beta since Sunday. Sunday I really wasn't sure I was going to keep my game order open but then came back last night. Am doing Order/Elf/Swordmaster and have also made a couple of the other elves. I had a great time last night (Monday). I come from 3 years of EQ and now over 3 years of WoW. WoW has gotten to that point that it is boring me so thought adding War might be a good idea. Have a funny feeling that a lot of Wow people are doing Beta right now as my server is very quiet in Chat even in Trade chat and guild seems dead last couple of days and zones are deadly quiet and empty.

We shall see but so far have done some quests, am learning about my Tome, etc. All a learning experience right now.

Lich King comes out in a couple of months. AOC seems to be a giant failure. This gap of time has given War the chance to grab a lot of WoW players.
