Do you think the overall population will be as imbalanced in this game as in WoW?

I figure since this won't be most people's first MMO that the balance will be a bit closer to 50:50. Ok, it probably won't, but I can hope can't I?

A few reasons we hope it won't be imbalanced:

RvR (Mythic's version of PvP) has been designed into this game from day one, unlike WoW where PvP was an afterthought. Balance REIGNS around PvP here. Don't like it? Go play WoW! That makes this game a little more hardcore as far as balances and such, and the team is aware of it.

Dogs of War. They've been veryyyyyyyyyyy silent on this recently, so hopefully they work out (although from the beginning I've been skeptical). These NPC's would be added to a party in RvR Battlegrounds, adding computer AI and firepower to the team with less players. They've stressed that there would be no way to control these dogs, and that scares me. Tactics reign supreme in WAR, and we don't need a dumb AI breaking team tactics because it can't figure out what we're doing! We'll just have to wait and see.

Finally, DAoC. While people can spout numbers and complain about imbalance the fact remains that DAoC is the only completely game with PvP around where each realm has access to different classes, equipment and spell sets. This is NEVER going to be 100% balanced, players just have to deal with it. I have no problem playing DAoC in any realm, and doing well in PvP....so it can't be that bad!!

Good question though! :)

Dogs of War only help out in Scenarios.

You still need a solid balance for World RvR.

Growing up in the Warhammer Universe, so to speak, I guess I didn't realize how much Destruction really turns people off. As much as the Order really isn't that good, Destruction really is that BAD. WoW's Horde was a bunch of pansies that weren't actually that bad, and the alliance still outnumbered people 3:1. I guess it all comes down to if people learned to embrace their dark sides towards the end of their WoW time (based on my anecdotal evidence that people converted to horde over the last year).

I am of the strong belief that the general WoW ratio will hold mostly true for WAR. Order will outnumber Destruction and the perceived (because I'm not going to touch that argument with a 9 foot pole) maturity balance will be the same as well.

I am a bit concerned, because controlling territory and maintaining control of your capital city is important, and if it turns out to be difficult for the under population to have a fair chance then players could become annoyed. Though I will say out of everyone I've seen and heard about this game this is my only concern.
