Yes, this is a post asking about the game, I know I'll get told to download the free trial and read other posts, but I have some detailed questions I want to ask, not the standard crap like "is this game better than WoW? Whats the best class?".

First off, I know that there are fair amount of expansions in this game, but, is this game like EQ1 content wise? What I mean is, are there like 200 different zones and all that? One of the things I loved about EQ was that since the game had an ungodly amount of content I could go back to old Kunark and even some Luclin zones, and play by myself and do stuff that no one gave a rats **** about anymore. I guess what I am asking is, are there alot of places to explore, and are the zones all usually pretty full, or are there some zones that are consistently empty,

Does this game have any atmosphere? I love getting a feeling for a zone I'm in, being in certain zones affecting my emotions and feeling different things when I fight the mobs in that zone. Or are things pretty generic and emotionally bland?

Whats the balance between pvp and pve? I know about the RvR system, but is that like 75% of the games focus, or is it 50-50? Or is it literally like 2 whole games, 100% pve stuff with a side of RvR? I have yet to find a game where I liked PvP. I HATED PvP in Guild Wars and in Star Wars Galaxies, but PvP in Daoc seems different, more fun.

Is there anything resembling EQ1 "Raid mobs;? Enemies so hard that you need a large group of people to kill them? Also, this may sound very stupid, but are there alot of internal "dungeon" type areas in Daoc, or is it mainly outside, wide open areas? I loved some of the deep, intricate dungeons in EQ.

Is the population of this game dying? Can I group failry easily if I want, and find a guild for RvR, or is it dropping off big time with the release of WoW, EQ2 and all the other next gen mmorpgs?

How much of this games content is in the form of instanced dungeons/areas? I really despise instances.

Lastly, how screwed is this game by botters and famrmers? How crapped up is the economy?

Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm this {} close to getting this game, these questions will make or break it for me.

I haved played both EQ and DAoC so I think i can answer most of your questions.
Well, firstoff Ill just say that I like EQ better...
1. This is not at all like EQ content wise that arent nearly as many zones, and depending on which realm you chose, Mid, Hib, Alb, all the zones available to you pretty mook look the same

2. Leveling is fairly easy so most players are in 15+ range (There are some lower levels around, but they will lvl up quickly)

3. 80% RvR- For us old EQers its hard geting used to the focus not being raid content, but PvP

4. Like i said before, since the focus is RvR there are few if any ( iv never seen any personally) "Raid Mobs"

5.There are alot of dungeons, but almost all are instanced (especially if you get catacombs which adds new dungeons)

6. The population isnt dying, but ill tell you the truth overall there were never the amount of players that EQ, WOW, or EQ2 had/have

7. i have no answer to your last question

Overall, its a great gaem, but dont come into it looking for an EQ/WOW type game

Hope this helps :) :)
P.S. i play on the Morgan server My char is Deodhlais if you play there give me a PM

To answer your last question....

Farming and BOT's can be an annoyance. Most people do have Bot's and many feel that in order to be competative in PVP you must a have a BOT to supply your buffs.

Economy WAS pretty screwed up there for a bit and extremely ridiculous. Scroll for certain Arties going for 20-30 plat. Mythic have managed to tone this down a bit by making certain scroll drops not so freaking Rare. Seeing how much scrolls went for, farming was to be expected. Most everything in TOA requires a group to get, so you in that group to go after something then it drops, then you have raffle it off within your grp...not something I enjoyed...

Now Mythic did come out with three new servers they dubbed "Classic" servers. These servers do not have TOA on them, and they pretty much eliminated BOT's. Tho you will see a few sorry asses running around with a BOT attached to the ***, but thats just free RP's now. To explain, on the other servers you could park you BOT at your KEEP or anywhere on Frontiers, buff your main char, and head out for fun. On the classic servers they made it so that the person buffing you had to be in your grp and within a certain range at all times.
