What are the different types of auralite worth. I have shards, chips, clusters..etc.. is there somewhere in the game to exchange it all for chips or can you turn it in as is to get items.

The type of auralite only refers to the quantity in the drop- 1, 5, 10, 15, etc.

A chip is one unit of auralite, a shard is (I think- actual number might be wrong) a drop of 10 chips, just has a unit instead of 10 individual chips.

Each of the realmm's new catacombs (Inconnu Crypt, Kobold Uni, Shar Lab) has a group of merchants who sell stuff in exchange for auralite instead of gold.

Im a legendary armorcrater which means I also salvage stuff. I buy DF seals and also the Auralite stuff now with catatombs open. I compared buying similar weapons and armor in the catatombs with DF for salvaging purposes.

The DF seals sell to salvagers for 1 gold per emmy, 3 gold per saph and 10 gold per diamond seal. All the auralite drop types are worth exactly the same as each other, no matter which type auralite the mob drops. The upshot is that if your planning to sell auralite to a salvager you'll get 25-27 silver per auralite. Since the mobs in catatombs seem to always drop at least 5 auralite per kill or in sets of 5, you'll be getting about 1.25 gold per auralite drop (given they always drop in 5's) if your farming.

So that's what I'm paying. One advantage for people currently selling auralite...most salvagers haven't researched it like me and I've heard of salvagers paying 1 gold per auralite lol. It doesn't take them long to figure out something is wrong.

I've had people tell me that 27 silver is low so if you can sell it for more good for you, but once all the salvagers figure this out...the market will set close to 27 silver per.

Aurulite, is just one unit, the number in front of it denotes its value. Clusters and such just make it seem like there's a difference.

Why the heck would they give them different names and the same value? I mean, seals are of different names and different values. Why wouldn't clusters be worth more than a chips? Mythic's thinking baffles me on alot of issues.

So that means a lv 45 ID drops the same amount of aurilite as lv 5?

And why can't they spell this out themselves? I swear...Daoc is the most poorly documented game I have ever seen. I can very rarely find the answers I need on the herald or other 'official' material. It all comes from second and third hand sources.

Doobles, you haven't posted here long and already you're annoying. DAoC is not a poorly documented game, most of the things they put out is about mechanics and commonly asked questions, they don't have time to cater to everything.

The 'second and third hand' sources you mention are actually primary sources, the players, the best trove of information about the game someone could ask for, as they experience it.

By the way, a level 40+ Instanced Dungeon doesn't drop as much Aurulite as a level 1 one, that level one dungeon is dropping maybe 1-5 aurulites on a kill every now and then, whereas in that 45 ID, they're dropping 15 or so per kill, it's called scale. Would you complain that armorers charge more money for certain pieces? Guess what, that money you earned is all the same value to?!?! Startling revelation? Idiot.

There's 15 in the level 40+ so they can afford the higher aurulite prices, and there's less in the lower level dungeons to give them a chance to buy gear too with the few that drops in their dungeons.

Stop talking, make us all happier.

Auralite vs. Seals

Demon Seals:
With Demon Seals, there are three different levels: Emerald, Saphire, and Diamond. The DF loot is also divided into three different levels and sold by different merchants. In order to buy the higher level loot you have to use the higher level seals. The seals also drop from monsters divided into three different level ranges also, with the highest level monsters dropping the highest level seals. The only exception to this rule is with the Boss mobs at the very deepest areas of DF. They will commonly drop Fiery Seals instead of Demon Seals which are actually exactly the same in value as normal diamond seals, with the difference being that they drop in stacks of 20.

Auralite:
Like Seals, Auralite is also used to buy loot from merchants located in the Catacombs main cities. Unlike Seals, Auralite is not divided into levels (well, not the way Seals are anyway). The value of one Auralite Chip is the same as one Auralite Shard or one Auralite Cluster. The loot is divided into five level ranges and sold by different merchants who, unlike the DF merchants, will accept ALL forms of Auralite. The merchants do not care what types of Auralite you have, they only care about your overall quantity... as will Salvagers/Crafters. How many Auralite "pieces" you get from each mob you kill depends on the level of the mob. Lower level mobs will drop Chips that have fewer "pieces" in each drop than higher level mobs which may drop Shards or Clusters that contain many more "pieces" per drop. It is sort of like the Demon Diamon Seals and Fiery Diamond Seals, were both are worth the same amount per seal, but they simply drop in different stack amounts. With Auralite, as you fight higher level mobs, the type of Auralite drops you get will change and the number of "pieces" that drop from that type will increase also.

I am not entirely certain, so someone should really check me on this, but I beleive that Chips drop in stacks of 5 pieces, Shards drop in stacks of 10 pieces, Cashes drop in stacks of 15 pieces and Clusters drop in stacks of 20 pieces. I might have some of those mixed up and might have the values a little off too... so if someone could check and let us all know for sure it would be appreciated.

The value is a bit lower than that...

An auralite chip is the same value as a single auralite shard, which is the same as a single auralite cluster... BUT

Every so often when you make kills in a dungeon you get...

1 auralite chip (low level instance dungeons)
5 auralite shard (mid low dungeons)
10 auralite cache (mid high dungeons)
20 auralite clusters (high level dungeons)

unless my names for auralite are off by a bit, or I'm missing something entirely

All auralite gear is 95% quality, regardless of level. The lowest level gear is around level 7 gear, and costs 5-7 auralite per piece, and the highest is, if I'm not mistaken around 650 per piece.
