New to Hibernia after having made a level 50 Albion I decided to make a level 20 Ranger.

How is it that when I was invisible in battlegrounds using my stealth powers that an enemy was able to sneak up on me from behind and kill me...how did they see me?

I though that was my thing.

Any answers please.

thanks.

Were you in bg1? And also what was your stealth skill, and your level when they killed you?

I was level 21 and yes I was in Battlegrounds (Thridinki).

thanks for response....thinking it was a stealther with better abilities than I have who was able to see me...

Let me know what you think.

It depends on your Stealth skill also. If you trained stealth to say 14, and he had 20 or so he is going to see you before you see him. If he was level 24 in bg1, changes are his stealth skill is higher.

If your skill in stealth was considerably lower than his, he is going to get the jump on you first :(

It also depends on another RA ability for another stealther to see you stealthed, that being the Mastery of Stealth Realm Ability. A few points in this really improves the range you can detect other stealthers at. If you choose to go the BG path I would suggest your first RA points go into this, 4 points to get MoS 2 will be of great benefit to detection and movement while stealthed.

I currently have 2 thid toons, one of which is a Ranger. You're going to find that infs and sb's will see you long before you see them, and it usually has to do with MoS w/ their own stealth ability which will usually be around 18-20. As a ranger don't waste your time with MoS until you reach like Molvik or Leirvik. Mostly just mod your bow strengths with Falcon's Eye taking it to lvl 3, or just continue to save your rp for Trueshot. Unless you're looking to be nothing but a pure sniper, there's no need for you to take your stealth 18+ at thid level.

Umm, get used to it. Assassins are the bane of a snipers existence. And by the time you see them you are usually stunned, bleeding, cant move and down to half health. Your job isnt stealther wars.. its stealther avoidance. You hit and run.. pop out from stealth and hit the weak, run away and stealth. if you hang out in one spot too long you're going to get dropped by an oportunistic assassin. Have fun and avoid the shadows with red names.. =)
