Minstrel QuestionFollow

I am a level 24 Minstrel and have a question with AoE mez VS song mez. For RVR or PVE "crowd control" which is better-my song mez or AoE mez? I have tried using the AoE mez but am not quite sure how effective this is compared to the song mez with my flute. Can someone please help me? I have read a lot of different sites on mezzing but no one has really given a specific choice on which one they would choose to use. Any information would be much appreciated.
