can anyone tell me a good server/nation to start out on?
i want to play a tank type char. any suggestions?

i would sujest one of the larger servers so there is a chance of other newbies around to group with.
i personaly play a thane (hybrid tank with lighting casting ability) on bors server, but it IMHO is underpopulated. i would hit the herald and check out the server list then join one of th e bigger ones.

Try the character builder on http://daoc.catacombs.com There are several combinations to pick from. Personally, I play in Albion because I like the Arthurian Lore but Midgard and Hibernia have awesome tanks.
You want some of this....

If want a tank i would do a Thane they can beat anyone melee i have a lvl 44 thane and can rock anyones world around its lvl.
