Quick tech questionFollow

I just loaded up ToA on my laptop and I guess it is just too much for my Mobility Radeon 7500. All I see are outlines and shadows. After going to the tech support on the DAoC site, I thought I would try putting it in classic mode. The problem with that is that if I click on options at the character select screen, the game freezes. Is there a way to do it other than at the character select screen? I have no problem with Shrouded Isles, only with ToA. The rest of the specs on the laptop are more than sufficient to run ToA, so I am assuming the problem is with the card. Thanks in advance.

only 2 sujestions i can give you for a laptop:

1. make sure your vid drivers are up to date from your laptop manufacture.

2. make sure your DX is up to date for those drivers.

i do not know off the top of my head if the mobility 7500 is able to handle dx9. if it is not, and you are running dx9 on your laptop you are just fubar until you do a roll back or if not running winXP do a full format reinstall.

just so much simpler then cracking the registry if you dont know your way around it.

if the 7500 can run dx9, then run it with the most current drivers from the manufacture. FYI, dont bother hitting the ATI site as all mobility cards that are ATI are NOT supported by ATI and they will provide zero drivers for them. you can only get them from the manufacture. they are propriatory hardware/software for those laptops.

Thanks Singdall. I have the latest drivers available from the manufacturer and if I remember correctly, the Mobility is DX9 compatible. Thank goodness or I wouldn't be able to still play EQ on there. I guess I am just stuck playing ToA on my tower. Thank you for the tips.
