RvR: wow, fun, helpFollow

#1 Mar 09 2004 at 2:59 PM Rating: Decent
got my first dose of RvR last night. had my **** handed to me, but boy was it a blast.

only 14 points and 8 deaths. not good, but man what is a thane to do. albi's have about 2-3X the range that i seem to have with spells, and they run faster then i do even with scald song backing me up and sprint on.

so i cant catch them to melee (id eat them for lunch if i could ever get to melee range, and did on 1 or 2 kills i got last night), but getting to melee seems almost impossible.

was in BG1 and we just headed out the path to the first keep over the bridge. that is were most of the fighting took place.

thanks.

oh fyi im on bors server so if any of you are on that server and mids, let me know.

Well first off in BG1 the "first keep over the bridge" is the ONLY keep that you won't instantly get killed by walking too close to. It is around that place that most of the fighting will take place since all 3 realms try and capture that keep. And with the speed it all depends on the spec of the skalad and mini that you and the albs were using. (also if albs had a pally with end chant on they could out run you no problem. and albs have 2-3x the range since I think you are compairing your range to a caster class since there is no alb equiv of a thane. but when you get to know the lay of the land you'll be able to jump on unsuspecting alb groups with your group and having a jump on them will allow you to hit them there for killing their speed and then making them yours for the slaughter(along with insta stun)

yes, thanks. starting to get the hang of things. up to 251rp atm and growing faster.

got a chance to hit emain with my guild a few times so i got to see the bigboy RvR and learned a lot. *note* only died 5 times total over 2 nights out in emain vs 20+ in BG1, so yes learning more and more.

its a blast, and teamwork seems to be very much so missing in the BG. sad reall, as 2 or 3 nights now Mids, have had the numbers, and classes to take the keep, but were not organized enough to do so. oh well.

Think you hit the nail on the head.....
Albion seems to lack good leaders (or everyone wants to be one!)
Need a strong controling "commander" and we could do a great deal better......

yeah, got so pissed last night at the BS in BG1, that i just left the group in the middle of a run and went over to SI and hit 25th last night.

5 points and 5 deaths in 40min. so not worth the headache. we had close to 2.5 full groups of mids, yet our Fin healer would just sit there FP as im turned into a pin cusion while trying to aim and fire the onager. after 2 of those and 2 more gankz it was time to say bye bye to the BG for me. ill wait for BG3, snag a few points and if things are not better ill just join guild in emain. did that other night and wracked up over 100 points 1 death and help to take a keep.

all that at 24th level.
