Sorry if this has been asked before but ive had a look and couldnt see anything on the first few pages.

Last night my NPC got 49 and i completed the Chameleon Capers quest, Now when i talk to him at Rendevous point i have a Fashionable Equipment option underneath the Headgear option.

My question is what exactly is this for, ive played with it and other than the fact he doesnt seem keen on anything he has on, i cant seem to find the point in it.

Also i dont know if its been said yet but i seemed to get to lvl 7 sandorian equipment yesterday which is the Hara-ate set, really cool especially as i have him using a Great Katana.

Unfortunatley when i was playing with the Fashionable equipment option he was under windursitan influence so he had dropped back to wearing a seers set, anyway any info would really help ^_^

the fashionable equipement menu is there to "lock in" pieces of gears you like.

For exemple i'm trying to get mine to look like a typical thf at 70. She can wear a silk hat (looks exactly like an optical hat), leaping boots, scorpion harness, and so on.

Once she wears the appropriate piece of gear, you pick it in the fashionable equipement menu, and it will stay there even if you level in a random region. So in the case of mine, she's always wearing lizard boots no matter what (same model as leaping boots).

Wear the dream hat +1 and the dream robe +1 while calling your NPC, or while checking her at a rendez-vous point and so on

(seems like it has to be the +1 set, as I tried with a dream hat and a dream robe +1, didn't work. Tried dream hat and dream robe, didn't work. My girlfriend has both +1 and it works everytime. So i'm slowly working toward a dream hat +1 ^^ )

So can you select which piece of equipment to lock in?

For example, lets say your NPC has the body equipment you like, can you just lock that one particular piece equipment?

Because that Hara- set is HAWT!! Right now my NPC (level 32 ; ;) is wearing the Mythril body and hangs, but has scale legs and feet.

I haven't done the quest yet, but would like to know in advance.

Thank you!

After choosing an item for fashionable equipment, my npc has worn the same armor, for many levels. I've tried choosing "none", but the armor doesn't change. Is there someway to undo the fashionable equipment choice (other than starting over)?

If you've selected "none," then their armor is free to change but just hasn't. I don't think anyone has nailed down the mechanics of it 100%; people used to say it was based on which nation had influence over the zone you were killing in, and now the discussions imply it's related to the type of mobs you kill.

If you want to handpick your NPC's armor without too much trial and error, use Ajahkeem in Ru'Lude Gardens. If you're patient enough you can eventually lock all 4 armor slots and just spend Fellow Points to "glamorize" (upgrade) each piece to whichever you want.

Apon checking the FFXIpedia entry on armour upgrades, it seems like they completely changed the system. Such a shame that is it so complicated and awkward now. Previously it was easy to know what you were and were not working towards.
