Introduction

This is a guide to EXP camps exclusively in the past. Currently I have 2 lists on this thread. The first one you'll see if a quick summary of all the monsters myself and the community have located that are possible to EXP on. The levels listed are the monsters levels, *not* the level you would take a party as to kill them.

Additional, I've started to expand on job specific camps, such as for BST or manaburns. Right now I have information on Beastmaster camps, and I'm starting to put it together here. You can locate these camps quickly by hitting CTRL+F or opening the "Find" function for your browser, and typing either (without the quotation marks) "-BST-" or "BST". The former is more exact, in the event "BST" is used somewhere else on the thread. Other job camps I'm still looking for, so hopefully I'll be able to place them down in the near future.

This thread still has a lot of potential to expand in different ways; any type of contribution is greatly appreciated and credit is given to those that contribute. I hope this is as useful to you as it is to me!

*NEW* I've started to create a list of monsters to hunt if you plan on soloing BST and want to try out the past. Starting at level 21, I intend to try to push it all the way to 75. It's a work in progress, so expect slow but steady updates. You can find it here:

Soloing BST in [S]. A level 20+ guide.

Notes:

- *** = Tried, Tested, AND Highly Recommended.
- "-BST-" = Indicates camps tried/tested by Beastmasters. (Hit CTRL+F or the "FIND" function for your browser and type "-BST-" or "BST" to locate BST camps.)
- "-BLM-" = Indicates camps tried/tested by Blackmages. (At this time there is only 1)
- Also, the levels I posted are the actual Monster levels, not the levels you would fight them at, unless otherwise noted.
- Additionally, I provided links to Vana'dial Atlas for the respective areas.

Player level 65-68 - Robber Crab (pet) vs. Djinn(name?) | Vunkerl Inlet [S] | Around OP [-BST-]

Notes:

- Generally speaking, solo-ers would want to fight these monsters at most 1 level below the lowest level range listed above (Obviously with a few exceptions).

- Duos/Trios can get away with 2-3 levels under the lowest level in the range.

- Full parties can go from 4-7 levels under the lowest level range.

------------------------

The following is listed by area, not like the order above.

Note:

- ? = Cannot say 100%, more like 95%, so give or take a level or two.

------------------------

North Gustaberg [S]

Monster: Tunnel Worm
Level: 10-12
Location: G-9 through J-9 / G-8 through H-8
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Great for soloing or a small party. A full party of 6, not sure, because the mobs are very spread out. There is a lot of worms along the road going east to west from Bastok Markets [S].

Monster: Walking Sapling
Level: 12-14(?)
Location: G-9 through J-9 / G-8 through H-8
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Again, great for solo or small parties, but it might be too spread out for a full party to set up camp. If you transition from worms to saplings, be cautious. Saplings have a lot more HP then worms.

Monster: Vulture [-BST-]
Level: 14-17
Location: G-9 through J-9 / G-8 through H-8
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Great for solo/small parties, might be too spread out for a stationary camp. If your soloing at 14/15, try avoiding the higher end birds that con Tough/High Defense, because they might eat you alive.

-BST- Comment from Yoshin: We ran along the path from G-9 to I/J-9(Where the bridges are) and looped back. At 14, use the DC/EM saplings(Lv.12-14?) that line the roads as pets and fight Vultures(Lv.15-18). I wouldn't recommend going solo around 14, since you'll go through a few pets if you fight a Lv.18 vulture.

Once you get to 15 you can choose to use the EM vultures as pets, but I used them as prey to keep up chains since we killed fairly quickly. There are 2 crabs in this circuit that seem to be the same level range as the vultures. They are both located on the 2 bridges around the end of I-9.

XP drops off around 17 in a duo, though you can push it to 18 if you'd like. We ended up murdering some DC vultures because of lack of prey at 17. I'd expect a solo player would get to 18 before heading off.

Monster: Stone Eater
Level: 17-20
Location: E-8 through E-10 / F-8 through F-10
Aggressive: No
Link: 90% sure its No
Monsters that might kill you: No, unless you go lower then E-7/F-7, gobs live there.
Comments: Only good for solo or a small party. Through this path I only found about 6-7 total worms, far less then the amount of monsters from the previous 3 I mentioned.

Other comments:

midguardian: I tried the Stone Eater road trip in N. Gustaberg [S] with a trio of lvl 16s: SCH, BLU and SAM. We managed to get chain 5 while roaming the road. We did well enough with two soloers also sharing the worms off and on (not able to get the high chains with them), but best for a party if you have the worms to yourself.

Monster: Rock Lizard
Level: 22-24{?}
Location: E-8 through E-10 / F-8 through F-10
Aggressive: No
Link: 90% sure its Yes
Monsters that might kill you: No, unless you go lower then E-7/F-7, gobs live there.
Comments:

Monster: Ornery Sheep
Level: 25-28
Location: K-7/K-8 / L-7/L-8, Right outside Maw
Aggressive: No
Link: Probably
Monsters that might kill you: Goblin Skirmisher tends to wander around the L-grid
Comments: As a level 25 dancer, these were very difficult to solo. I suggest a duo/party for these guys. They are very numerous.

Mikourei: Duo'd with 2x DNC/NINs on Ornery Sheep in North Gustaberg [S] today. Levels were 24-25 getting a minimum of 5k exp/hour. There's *more* than enough sheep to keep chains running smoothly and they went down *extremely* fast.

Could probably set up a party here as an alternative to Qufim from 19-21ish if you can deal with Sheep Song effectively.

Sheep link to sight, obviously, and there is a gob that patrols near the road. I'd suggest for a full party setup to camp on the north end of (K-7) to avoid links, and a good puller to avoid linking pulls.

Sheep attack hard and fast, so a good PLD is recommended. At a higher level duo/trio here you could duo-tank with 2 NIN or /NINs since their acc lags a bit in the 24-25 range, but be prepared to take some damage when they do start hitting.

Monster: Rock Eater
Level: 32-35(?)
Location: Starting at the river at H-7, all along the path to Palborough zone
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: Goblins towards Oldton Movalpolos
Comments: Coppercaps con around the same level as the worms, and are located in close proximity to the worms. As intimidating as they look, they do no aggro. Tried this as a 26-27 trio party (worms). EXP is amazing, its like Korrokola Tunnel all over again. I think a full party of 24/25 - 29 can get great EXP here. 29 if you kill really fast. A Pixie patrols this area.

Monster: Huge Spider
Level: 35-38
Location: K-7/K-8 / L-7/L-8, Right outside Maw
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Goblin Skirmisher that wanders in the L-Grid periodically
Comments: Lots of spiders in this area, and they just have normal attacks, nothing new or special.

Notes:

- You'll find Huge Spiders near the Maw entrance if you enter Gustaberg [S], and also near Rock Eaters if you travel past E-10/F-10 going south. They do no aggro, I can confirm this 100% (as I stood in front of one at level 19).

- Lesser Wivres (located near Rock Eaters) do not aggro.

- Rock Lizards (also located near Rock Eaters) do not aggro.

- Going higher then H-8 for the lower level monsters is not recommended. For one reason there is no need to, another is there are undead mobs that pop there. If you start along the road you'll never get aggro of any kind.

- A pixie or two does patrol the G-9 through J-9 / G-8 through H-8 path and the E-8 through E-10 / F-8 through F-10.

West Sarutabaruta [S]

Monster: Tiny Lycopodium
Level: 10-12
Location: Outside of Windurst Waters [S], J-8, and also I-10
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Added from ImmortalAlchemist

Monster: Savannah Rarab
Level: 13-15
Location: Outside of Windurst Waters [S], J-8, and also I-10
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Added from Minitalon.

Monster: Crawler
Level: 18-21
Location: None specified
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Added from Minitalon.

Monster: Carrion Crow
Level: 22-25
Location: G-10/F-10
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: There is one Goblin Skirmisher that wanders no further then G-10 and walks as far east as H-10.
Comments: I'm currently leveling here solo. These birds have double attack. In this area I've only seen roughly 6~, so it may not be suitable for a full stationary camp, but more for solo/small parties.

Monster: River Crab
Level: 22-25
Location: F-10/F-11 (along the coast)
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Haven't tried to fight these as I prefer not to fight defensive mobs solo. Along the coast I counted about 15~ running around. With the amount of crabs in a close vicinity I'd say this is good for a full party of lvl 15-19~, maybe 2 parties can squeeze in here.

Monster: Savannah Dhalmel
Level: 35-37
Location: Northeast portion of the map
Aggressive: ???
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments: Added from SirEagleStrike. Comments that a small party of 30-33 have excellent EXP out here.

Monster: Toads
Level: 50-52~
Location: I-9, F-4, F-11
Aggressive: No
Link: Yes
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Added from Unholyllama. From what I've seen, these toads are pretty close together, so pullers would need to be patient. Mentioned by Unholyllama, Toad's do not use any type of special attacks at all, but do in fact have a speedier attack speed, similar to the speed of Beestinger.

Vilandan: Sometimes you'll see Poroggo Gents near the toads, complete with pointy hats. No one seems to know for sure whether they spawn from killing toads, or if they spawn randomly on their own. Either way, they do aggro. One started off with Stone III on me. :(

Monster: Rafflesia
Level: 49-52~
Location: G-5, G-9
Aggressive: Yes, Sound
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: Just the Rafflesia themselves. Also Goblins if you travel far east.
Comments: Added from Unholyllama.

Monster: Yagudo's Elemental (from Yagudo Mendicant) [-BLM-]
Level: ???-??? (Good for solo from 54-58)
Location: F-6/F-6
Aggressive: Yes, Sight
Link: Yes, Sight
Monsters that might kill you: Yagudos, and -ga spells if Campaign starts.
Comments: This is from a post on the BLM forums from Rootcow, but the original information came from Misara. Please go here for details on this camp for BLM.

------------------------

East Ronfaure [S]

Monster: Tunnel Worm
Level: 12-15(?)
Location: 13-15 Near Town
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments:

Monster: River Crab
Level: 12-15
Location: Near Town / Along the River
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments:

Monster: Forest Hare
Level: 13-15(?)
Location: 13-15 Near Town
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: None
Comments:

Monster: Pugil
Level: 13-15, 15-17
Location: 13-15 Near Town, 15-17 Near Jugner Forest [S] zone
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Probably near Jugner, the Ladybugs
Comments:

Mikourei: Duo'd with BRD/WHM and DNC/WAR at lvl 15 in East Ronfaure [S] running along the river killing Pugils. These check as high DC to low T. We were getting around 4k/hour or so.

May not be very good for a standard party setup since it's quite spread out, but the DNC was main healing himself while tanking with no downtime.

We were killing crabs (EP-DC) for TP fodder then chaining 2-3 pugils for 100-130 exp/kill.

Note that the pugils seem to be lvl 13-15 near town, but get closer to 15-17 near the Jugner Forest [S] zone.

It's not much, but for a duo that doesn't need to rest, it was great.

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention that in the southern stretch of the river there are IT++ Ladybugs and skellies that walk along the river that can aggro but are easily avoided. I didn't notice a skelly that came within aggro range of the river but we were cautious nonetheless.

Monster: Scarab Beetle
Level: 21-23
Location: G-7/H-7/G-8/H-8
Aggressive: No
Link: Yes, Sight link
Monsters that might kill you: Only if you go further then H-9. IT++ (at level 20) skeleton pop at night.
Comments: Awesome solo spot at 21-22, awesome duo spot at 19-22, populated enough to support possibly 2 full parties 14-18 (I haven't personally tried). One to two Pixies also patrol this camp periodically.

Monster: Battrap
Level: 35-37
Location: Southwest part of the map near King Ranp's Tomb
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Ladybugs, maybe Djinns if you go far south
Comments: Quite a few of them here, but Ladybugs mix in with these, so it's a little dangerous.

Monster: Ladybugs & Colibri [-BST-]
Level: 44-48(?)
Location: All over
Aggressive: Ladybugs Yes: Sight (but only during daylight), Colibri No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Ladybugs
Comments: Added from Etnapwnzs.

-BST- Comment from Yipyap: i had found a camp in East ronfire [s] by the campain tower and theirs colibri vs lady bugs i was their at 46 which was last possible lvl to be their so i whuld say u chuld go from 43/44-46 so head'em up and move em' out fellow BST and rock their worlds this camp is also good for moneys so collect the lady bug wings and turn them in for a quest for ever 4 lady bug wings u get 3k so is a good camp if u keep the pixie their on tracked u can get pl'd by them :P

Overlord etnapwnzs:
Perfect setup for an Arrowburn/Daggerburn/Dragoon party between level 38-42, the Ladybugs very weak to Piercing with a rumored 1.5 multiplier (I went soloing here as 75 Thief, my SA+DE did no less than 1400, my DE w/o SA did no less than 1000 damamge). Ladybugs only have 1600 to 1900 HP. One of my SA+DE took a ladybug from 100% to 5% health.

The ladybugs do have an annoying TP move that gives amnesia, but they won't have any health left for TP moves to be done on them with the right party setup. This effect does not last long, however.

Colibri do have somewhat higher defense and accuracy, but they're just as dead with a Distortion skillchain, and just as weak to piercing. I haven't tested the fact if they reflect magic, but in the past they tend to resist everything but ice and dark magics.

TeKniSSioN Min/Max PT level range: 37-42
Camp location: (H-9) no aggro, pull from south and southwest
Weak to peircing, low HP, no double attack, many spawns and fast repop

Ladybug TP moves:
Sudden Lunge= Single target Damage and stun with knockback effect, ignores shadows
Spiral Spin= Directional AoE Damage and ACC down, ignores shadows
Nepenthean Hum= AoE Amnesia (shorter duration than imps amnesia)
Noisome Powder= AoE ATK Down (shorter duration than bats atk down)

Highly recommended camp, alternative to the packed crawler's nest.

A comment about Ladybugs:

Nalyr: Ladybugs (at least in East Ronfaure) have different move sets dependent on if it is daytime or night. During the daytime they are much stronger, use a wider variety of TP moves, and can aggro. At night they seem to not aggro and are much easier to fight.

------------------------

Fort Karugo Narugo [S]

Monster: Wandering Sapling [-BST-]
Level: 26-28(?)
Location: E-12/E-13
Aggressive: No
Link: Yes
Monsters that might kill you: None.
Comments: Well, leveling here as BST and it's quite nice if your the only one there. Considering the rarity of people to use the past for exping, you're more then likely going to alone down here. Easy to access by OPing to West Sarutabaruta [S] and heading north to the zone of the fort. Basically fighting Saplings vs. Rabbits, or Saplings vs. Saplings.

Monster: Vorpal Bunny [-BST-]
Level: 27-30
Location: E-12/E-13
Aggressive: No
Link: Yes
Monsters that might kill you: None.
Comments: Finally found a mob to fill the gap between sheep and mandys! They don't have any special attacks, and like I said above, it's really only good for one set of people/person to level. Mobs are not *that* populated, but its still a 5 minute repop, so BSTs may like this camp. I certainly do. Just a side note, there is no Pixie's in this grid of the map, but at least the zone is close.

------------------------

Meriphataud Mountains [S]

Monster: Gnat
Level: Cons VT to 75's Possible merit camp
Location: K-11
Aggressive: Yes, Sight. Rumored to hover over dead bodies.
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments: Added from ImmortalAlchemist. Comments provided by Admiral Tzemesce:

Admiral Tzemesce: My perma tried to merit off of Gnats in the Meriphitaud Mountains camp on Saturday night, it didn't go so well. First off, they hit really hard (150-250 on a DRK75)and seem to either have a move that increases attack speed, or they attack faster as their hp gets lower. They have a move called Pandemic Nip that transfers all debuffs on the mob to the person with hate; nothing sets the mood like the tank getting Gravity, Slow II, and Dia II all at the same time. They also have a move that gives AoE spider-slow, the kind that can only be erased, not hasted over.

The Gnats gave about 80-90 exp a piece to a five man party, all with Sigil. Chains do make it the exp better, but it's hard to keep pulling at the speed needed by the party since the mobs are pretty far apart. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of HP, but noticeable more than Colibri.

In the end, I'd suggest a blink tank or a group of /nin; even then, the AoE slow move is really nasty. Mages will burn through all their mp casting Erase on everyone, then re-hasting. We didn't get to test how well Sleep sticks to Gnats, so I can't say for sure how well manaburns may work on them.

Monster: Mountain Scolopendrid
Level: 78-82
Location: I-8
Aggressive: Yes

Monsters that might kill you: Cockatrice/Raptors (DC@71)

Comment from midguardian:

Running with Death Scissors

Location: Meriphataud Mountains [S] [I-8]
Opponents: Mountain Scolopendrid
Level Range: 79-82
Agressive: Yes
Link: No
Repop: 5 minutes?
Pixie Services: No
Camp/Pulling Safety: Good. (Cockatrice/Raptors DC@71)
Camp Access: CA Warp deposits you at [E-5], Maw at [K-6].

Scorpions have Death Scissors. It's a rite of passage to fight them, right?

Camped near the base of one of the towers in the area. Now, when I've explored this zone before, these towers were flocked with Yagudo, presumably because the Theomilitary controled the zone. For this xp xperiment, Windurst was in charge, and the towers were unbirded. If the Yags control this zone on your server, you might have to move camp a bit. We found enough scorpions to chain 5 easily with short pulls (scorpions are nice and slow, btw), but if you want high/fast chains at higher level, you will have to roam or possibly add in other mobs.

There was something odd about these scorpions. Fought 30-40 of them but couldn't quite figure it out. Sometimes they would use TP moves on pull. Usualy that meant they came to camp buffed with Sharp Strike (atk boost), which is no good, so you dispel it. One scorpion used Cold Breath (bind) when our puller got too close, so you have to be careful. We started out on Firesday with no weather and noticed quickly what seemed like TP regain (like Magmatic Erucas). Day switched over to Earthsday and they were significantly easier to fight. But then later on Earthsday, they seemed prebuffed again. Never noticed any weather. Could be a time of day thing. Also seemed to attack faster in their buffed mode, but that could have been imagination. Would be interested to hear other's experience with these mobs.

Jugner Forest [S]

Monster: Snipper
Level: 38-40
Location: G-5/G-6/H-6
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: Biddybugs if you go too far south
Comments: They are pretty spread out in this area, but relatively safe. Using these as pets for BST, but it could be a viable camp for traditional parties. RDM/BRD/BLU might be very useful for dispel.

Monster: Land Pugil [-BST-]
Level: 38-40
Location: G-5/G-6/H-6
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: Biddybugs if you go too far south
Comments: Again, similar to Snippers, they are spread out. But being the same levels as crabs, you can flip/flop EXP mobs if you like to. These are the prefered pets for BSTs leveling here; the decimate crabs, at least compared to a crab vs. crab or crab vs. pugil.

Monster: Jugner Funguar (using Forest Leech as pets) [-BST-]
Level: 42-45(?) (EM/T @42)
Location: Along the path to present day La Theine, using OP warp to get to camp.
Aggressive: No
Link: ???

Comments:

-BST- Comment from SiviardOfShiva:
A couple weeks ago, I did WHM/BST from 42 to 43 in Jugner Forest [S]

Use the Warp NPC to get warped to the Campaign Battle area, and your camp is all along the trail just like the Jugner Forest zone of the present.

Use Leeches as pets and fight Funguars. At Lv. 42, the Leeches conned DC with a few EP mixed in, and the Funguars conned EM and T so my guess would be this camp is for 40-43.

Approximate level range of mobs in the area: Leeches my guess is 38-40, and Funguars 42-44.

Monster: Stag Beetle
Level: 43-46(?) (IT Low Evasion/High Defense @35)
Location: K-9, by the middle Vunkerl Inlet [S] zone
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: None
Comments: Just located this camp outside of the zone of Vunkerl Inlet [S]. 5 Beetles in this camp, and looks peaceful. Supports 1 party only. I walked from East Ronfaure [S] to this camp as a Dancer (with Spectral Jig). Walked past Snippers, Pugs, Orctraps, Djinns, Birds. I know Djinns aggro, but the rest I don't think so. Depending on where OP warp places you in either Jugner Forest [S] or Vunkerl Inlet [S], this may or may not a difficult camp to walk to. But it may be worth it.

Monster: Biddybugs
Level: 62-64~
Location: Between I-6 & J-6
Aggressive: Sight
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Biddybugs themselves
Comments: Added from Unholyllama. These mobs seem weak to be piercing.

Pashhow Marshlands [S]

Monster: Virulent Pieste
Level: 76-85
Location: E-10/E-11
Aggressive: Sight
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Pieste mobs themselves
Comments: They have a special plague attack that does massive TP drain, at least 10 tick from what my friend said. AoE Paralyze, Gaze Petrification.

------------------------

Grauberg [S]

Monster: Rock Eater
Level: 33-35(?)
Location: C-14/D-14
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: If War Lizards aggro, then yes.
Comments: I counted about 8 worms spread out in this small area. My friend said they all conned DC at lvl 36, so they are roughly 34-36 (considering the fact that the other worms in the past are about a 2 level different (Tunnel Worms, Stone Eaters). This camp might be a nice, peaceful substitute for Yhoator Jungle mandies. This is a good bridge to get to the Dhalmel camp in West Sarutabaruta [S].

Monster: Walking Sapling
Level: 36-39
Location: C-14/D-14/E-14
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Goblin might be around the area
Comments: These were not as numerous as the worms, but there is enough for a small party to kill.

Monster: War Lizard
Level: 42-44(?)
Location: C-14/D-14/E-14
Aggressive: No
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: Goblin might be around the area
Comments: Again, not as numerous as the worms, but could support 1 party in a semi-mobile camp or long pulls. You'll probably need a WHM for Stona in this area.

Monster: Grauberg Hippogryph (not 100% on name)
Level: DC to 75 (roughly level 70ish)
Location: G-7/G-8
Aggressive: Sight
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments: Ran into these when I wanted to check out the Ajattara camp in Skyrend. These guys are pretty plentiful, just spread out in the a wide area. However, I would like to note there attacks, because you may want to have a WHM or /WHM to prepare for -nas:

- AoE Dispel of 1 buff
- Boost attack (which is serious business. At 75 as a PLD, I was getting hit on average 20-40. When it boosted and attacked me, I got hit for 300-450 without a critical hit)
- Frontal/cone Silence+Paralyze attack and small damage
- Jettatura (terror)

These hippogryph were pretty squishy as 75.

Monster: Ajattara
Level: VT-IT to 75s
Location: Skyrend, C-8/D-8
Aggressive: Sight
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments: Added from Firewyrmlancer. I tried this out myself. Wyverns (the Ajattara) are pretty populated, and there are a handful of safe spots, as several people have mentioned. I tanked them as PLD, and they do hurt, although I'm sure its no different then Skoffins over in Mamool Ja Staging Point (maybe a bit harder). This was without Phalanx II. In addition, They don't have any new attacks.

Other comments:

midguardian: I also visited the Ajattara camp at Skyrend while exploring. Plenty of wyverns for multiple parties, but only one safe spot that I saw if you're actually camping as opposed to roaming, and that's at Skyrend [C-8] itself (where you can see into Old Konschtat Highlands). Most conned VT at 75, but were a few ITs thrown in as well. Was a party of 5 xping on them while I was there and doing very well even without dispel. Nin/War, Nin/Dnc, Sam, Pup/Whm with Whm auto and a Thf. All were 75 except the Thf who was 68 or 69. Looks like a very nice merit camp.

Vunkerl Inlet [S]

Monster: Goliath Beetle / Carrion Marabou [-BST-]
Level: 34-36 / 35-37 (respectively)
Location: F-6, F-8, F-9 (Three separate camps)
Aggressive: No
Link: Beetles link by sight (probably) / Birds: ???
Monsters that might kill you: No
Comments: Just wow. Ran into this venturing around. This camp has a mix of birds and beetles and one pixie :D. The Birds and Beetles are roughly the same level, and I counted about 10 birds/10 beetles, so this could support 2-3 full parties (assuming the repop is 5 minutes). The camp at F-6 would be excellent for a 27-31 parties, an alternative to Yhoator Jungle. The camp at F-8 can support 1-2 parties, more then likely just one. The one in F-9 can also support 1 party. These camps are only accessible from the mid entrance of Jugner Forest [S], or OP warp from Vunkerl Inlet [S] (which is a bit of a walk). Keep in mind these camps might be easier to be accessed once Chocobos are available.

-BST- Comment from AstaraelTheSorrowful: I was soloing in Vunkerl Inlet as DNC34/BST yesterday and it was very fun^^.
Beetles vs. Beetles + Birds worked very :D

Hoping to explore some more solo camps in past as /bst in future

Monster: Robber Crabs (pets) vs. Forest Tigers(name?) [-BST-]

-BST- Comment from Cesaria: Please check the camp below for more details

Monster: Robber Crabs (pets) vs. Djinns(name?) [-BST-]
Level: ??? (good for 65 -> 68)
Location: ???
Aggressive: ???
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments:

-BST- Comment from Cesaria: What we did in the end was to go to the northernmost point of Vunkerel Inlet (however it's spelt) and fought tigers using robber crabs as a 64 duo. When we dinged 65 we went back and swapped to /RDM and started throwing crabs at the dijnns. These are dark-based bombs that do an AOE bio attack (dark wave), a single target damage attack (penumbral impact), berserk and a self destruct move called nocturnal combustion. They were recently "adjusted" by SE to be slightly less trigger happy but you can force them to spam through their TP moves by nuking them with the element of the day of the week (dia or banish work on lightsday, bio works on darksday) - we would stand there and spam tier 1 spells feeding it TP like crazy until it blew up. Got some insane exp rate like about 6k/hr doing this - and chains up to something like 508 exp on chain 4 in a duo without an empress band on.

If anything DOES go wrong - at one point my duo partner got a raise3 from a pixie and you can always run back and do a couple of campaign battles to get the exp back you lost :D

In the end we got through to 68 there with relative ease and it was some completely insane exp - but with the obvious risks of bomb exp (ending up in an explodey mess basically). Like I say - this was a duo, but solo to play catchup after deciding to throw himself repeatedly at Aquarius "because it's THERE" - my partner was still doing well (200 a kill) at level 67/8 ish.

Monster: Gigas (WAR, MNK, RNG)
Level: 78-81~
Location: I-9
Aggressive: Yes
Link: Yes
Monsters that might kill you: Gigas themselves
Comments:

Comment from midguardian:

Against the Giants

Location: Vunkerl Inlet [I-9]
Opponents: 2x Gigas Marine (WAR), 2x Gigas Deckhand (MNK) and 1x Gigas Jack (RNG)
Level Range: 78-80 (Gigas Jack may have slightly higher range)
Agressive: Yes
Link: Yes
Repop: 5 minutes
Pixie Services: Sprite doesn't quite roam as far as camp.
Camp/Pulling Safety: Excellent.
Camp Access: CA Warp deposits you at [H-10].

These giants are sailors and consort with dark bombs. Reason enough to thin their ranks.

They're conventional giants in that they use lightning attack, and as luck would have it, Vunkerl Inlet has double lightning weather often. Camp is at the end of the little valley just north of [I-9] and the five giants roam in an area just to the south of camp. Camp holds one party, and the limited number of giants means that you can't raise your xp rate by pulling more mobs faster. Good for low level 70 party though.

------------------------

Batallia Downs [S]

Monster: Lycopodium
Level: 29-31
Location: Near Jeuno zone, or H-8/I-10/J-10
Aggressive: No. But they follow you.
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: No (except during sandstorms)
Comments: Used these for pets as BST at 29-31. They do not use any AoE sleep or a variety of it (which is weird because there are youtube vids showing mandys using some type of Aoe). This could be used as a alternative for the mandy camp in Yuhtunga Jungle.

Monster: Sadfly [-BST-]
Level: 29-31
Location: H-8
Aggressive: No
Link: Yes
Monsters that might kill you: No (except during sandstorms)
Comments: Used these for pets as BST at 29-31 also. Might not be the best to EXP as a normal party of any size unless you have a DNC or some sort of Curaga.

Monster: Clipper
Level: 32-34
Location: I-10/J-10
Aggressive: No
Link: No
Monsters that might kill you: Yes, but only during night. Wights pop along the east most of the coastline
Comments: Used these as pets and mobs to kill as BST from 31-32. Clippers have a decent population...about 6-8 along the two grid coast. Besides the Wight that pops at the east most part of the coast (and does not travel further then that), might be a nice camp for people to level in. Nothing will attack you and a Pixie does roam around there.

Monster: Smilodons

lvl57-59
<pos> E-9, E-10, areound the little pond and around the lake.
its an big area and there might be need for some running to get a new pet.

pets Scabrous Slug(lvl56-60ish)
prey Scabrous Slug(lvl56-60ish)

use Wide scan to find your next pet.

the exp slug that you are killing will use some nasty moves. always let pet have hate. when the slug uses a weapon skill it will cure the pet about 150-200HP. that alone makes this camp pritty fun.

take a fly throw it at a T and watch the EXP roll in.
i was getting chain1-3 300+ exp with the exp band on.

pic of the dragonfly camp exp with the exp band on.

i was thf/bst at the time of these levels so im sure that a BST main could enter these camps at a lower lvl then what i posted, the dragonflys only pop EM-T++ at lvl59 tho.

Monster: Worker Crawlers [-BST-]
Level: 60-63(?)
Location: Outside Crawlers' Nest [S]
Aggressive: ???
Link: ???
Monsters that might kill you: ???
Comments:

-BST- Comment from Gmanga:
Level 60 Rolanberry Fields [S]

Worker Crawlers level 60~63 not a single one popped DC to me @ 60 all EM-T mostly T.

Fight right outside Crawlers Nest [S]. Solo Duo Trio repops are insanely fast Crawlers hit very hard and tank very well. Fights are short and sweet. You can get refresh, regen, and increased meal duration. Did not need to use light staff as these charm extremely easy. Crawler vs. Crawler

This camp will prob last a long time as the Quadav are VT-IT nearby. By the time the highest level crawlers hit EM they will prob work well as pets vs Quadavs but not certain yet.

Not from me sadly. I stuck around in Gustaberg [S] for the most part. I did see a JP party of 3 fighting Tiny Lycopodium outside of Windurst [S]. I'd like to see the Carrion Worms and the bunnies are roughly around the levels of the Tunnel Worms and Saplings in Gustaberg [S], but again I can't say for certain.

But as an alternative to dunes in the present you could also go to Korrokola Tunnel...thats good from 13/14-19 as a full party.

Gnats are aggressive last I encountered them, by sight. Same with any ladybugs if you happen across them. And, I noticed the monsters in the past hit -very- hard. A Tough rabbit in buburimu hits me for 15ish whereas a DC rabbit in west saru [S] hits me for 29. But that's just my experience.

I'll have to agree. I didn't do direct comparisons of damage, but I did notice mobs in the past slightly harder then present mobs.

The reason atjarra die faster isn't because of some stat difference. The skoffins are VT-IT, while atjarra are T-VT. They're just lower leveled. Though that just means longer chains or smaller parties would work just fine.

Also, just north of the atjarra there's hippogryphs that would be a very nice level 65ish camp, I think. (maybe 67ish) Hippogryphs are squishy and have little hp, and none of their moves are very dangerous. Terrorizing you for 5-10 seconds is probably the worst, but the fight would be over by then.

Also I updated some rough estimate levels of the mobs in my previous post. They aren't 100% but they are estimates based on checking them with the levels I have.
