Getting started in Adoulin contentFollow

I've been back in Vana'diel for a little over a month now, and spending my time with a combination of leveling jobs (in abyssea), gathering Rem's Tales for AF/Relic upgrades, farming Dynamis and Limbus for coins / upgrade items, crafting, and catching up on missions with my second character.

I'm finally concerned with getting started in Adoulin in some fashion (other than getting to the city, unlocking GEO and RUN, and leveling them to 50 recently). Looking at the pages regarding many of the events is a bit overwhelming on where to actually start. Is there a specific thing I should start with in order to get requisite items, currencies, pops, whatever to get into the content?

I'm primarily in things that I can do in a small group (2-3). Both of my characters and a RL friend are all as geared as Abyssea will allow and have spark weapons / armor sets for any jobs we play - so that gives a relative yardstick for where we are starting.

Should start by doing imprimatur tasks (to raise fame and reduce price of wildskeeper KIs) and Skirmish II (for base gear) and Wildskeeper Rieves.

It's a good idea to unlock as many warps as possible in the different zones as well.

I would recommend doing quests and Coalition Ops as soon as you can. I believe there are mission requirements that require a certain amount of fame and a minimum number of imprimaturs (Coalition Ops tags). Doing these two things will also reduce the entry fee for large battlefields called wildskeeper reives, which requires a minor amount of mission progression.

Doing coalition ops gives xp as well as bayld, which is a currency used to buy certain things in SoA areas.

You will want to focus on getting waypoints and certain key items from quests as soon as possible. These key items are important because they are required either to damage obstacles in reives in the area (think mini-campaign battles), or to travel around obstacles. In many zones, reives will block your way and you will have to fight through them on the way to the waypoints. Many of these can be low manned, but there are some tougher ones in the newer areas.

Once you complete certain objectives, you can go to the library in SoA and obtain free rewards which range from free bayld to items from wildskeeper reives.

As for focusing on gear, I'll be honest I've gotten completely lost with gear in this expansion. Too many confusing choices which seem to be obsolete before I can even find time to participate in the content. Sparks gear is probably good enough for a lot of things.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. I'll get started with some of the quests and ops to get started while continuing the fun romp through pre-Adoulin content. It's still weird to do things like CoP on another character and spend 90% of the time in a cutscene rather than preparing for the fights, leveling jobs for specific roles, etc from back in the day - actually my original CoP static was started on these boards :)
