Given how dramatically different it looks from Zilartian technology, I wouldn't be surprised if it's Rhazowan, and part of the civilization that used runes. It would certainly bring Rune Fencer into the Seekers of Adoulin storyline which is very Geomancer heavy right now with The World Tree. The first Rune Fencer Sverdhried traveled to Rhazowa to learn Runes which he adapted into a technique which started Rune Fencer. Even though we aren't on Rhazowa (the northern continent), I wouldn't be surprised if some of that civilization in the past migrated to the frozen areas at Kamihr Drifts and above.

Right now that's the most logical choice to me seeing as the new jobs since Treasures of Aht Urghan have always been heavily tied into the main storyline and so far Rune Fencer hasn't been tied in much.

That new Behemoth skin looks cool and that other one looks new like a headless knight. Looks fun, more interesting than how boring Yorcia is. I hope the augments are narrower this time at the very least or not so hard to get things that obviously belong to the set like MAB on Hagondes and Perp on Uffrat.

I belive that's the Dullahan that was mentioned in the recent journal excerpt. I was wondering if it were to be a new mob would it look like the image or just a recycled sprite from the Ironclads. However after doing a google search for spelling the name, I also came across what looks like a simular design holding a great sword for FF14. I'm now wondering if it's going to be Undead, Arcana, or a mix of the two simular to how Umbrils look and act like other mob types.

Aside from that it looks like I'll have to restart on augments if those new skirmish upgrades wipe prior augments again. It's a good thing I've been only trying to feed stones into the Hogendaz set for mab and gave up when I only kept getting pet or avatar mods.

[dev1182] Monstrosity Additions and Adjustments

  • Monstrosity will undergo the following additions and adjustments.

  • New instincts will be introduced.

  • New monster families will be introduced.

  • Infamy and prestige loss will now be governed by the outline below.
Pre-adjustment:
30% of points possessed, where
10% dissipates into the aether and 20% is lost to your opponent

Post-adjustment:
Up to 30% of points possessed, where either:
10% dissipates into the aether in addition to twice the number of your opponent's points
or
10% dissipates into the aether and 20% is lost to your opponent, whichever is smallest

* The introduction of additional areas to Monstrosity will regrettably be postponed until a later version update.

It's still got a once a week limit, but I'll be sure to spam this one now.

It's actually a once per RL day limit. You are able to flag one of those quests per day.

Note that it's specifically flag and not complete; you are able to stack them similarly to how you can with Salvage runs, and you can also have more than one flagged at once.

Nice preview video. Outer Ra'Kaznar is looking to be interesting. Definitely an area with frequent dark weather. I can't tell if those are fomors when they are showing the wide panshots of the area. Still crossing my fingers on another Naakaul and amorph area. Not enough enemies in the shot to make a solid guess yet.

That is a really short recast timer on Waltzes! Very excited about that. It's a very nice start but I think DNC will need some more tweaking to be a desirable healer. I think being in harms way to deal damage, buff with sambas and debuff is enough of a distinction from WHM. Need to lower the cost of Healing Waltz if you're going to be spamming it on 6 people or give an AoE one.

I forgot all about the concept art for Dullahan type mob back when Seekers of Adoulin was recently added. Can't wait to see the in-game models for GEO and RUN empyrean armor, especially RUN which just looks so much more badass. Looks like they finally added that tiger which is in the concept art, though odd it first appears in Ceizak/Yahse of all places. Probably will see one in Skirmish 3. [Link]

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing that one demonic-looking creature on the far right side somewhere in Outer Ra'Kaznar. There just seems to be something about that design that sort of matches the architecture of the ruins if you ask me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was either another Skirmish boss or some major boss of some sort.

New Seekers of Adoulin Missions to Emerge (02/17/2014)

Come the February 18 version update, the veil begins to lift on the mystery-shrouded action that descended upon Adoulin months ago. Riddles will be solved, questions will be answered, and battles will unfold as pioneers clear the way to understanding on the primordial continent of Ulbuka.

Arciela becomes slave to the winds of fate, a resplendent tiger of mountainous proportions is sighted stalking the jungle, and disaster the likes of legend is mere ilms away from befalling the Sacred City of Adoulin.

What does it all mean for Middle Landers who have arrived on the shores of this island nation and become embroiled in its civil dispute over colonization? Slip into your brawling boots and trek into the hinterland to find out!

...as if anyone who didn't get it done in the first two weeks has passed Behind the Sluices, a 3-person minimum fight with screwed up hate rules, hard enough to really need 3 people, that nobody has any incentive to help PUGs win (no rewards except mission clear), especially in these days of low server population. Seriously, SE, what were you guys thinking?

Until something is done to help people pass that fight, new SoA missions are pointless.

I got that done with a 3 man party two months after it was added. The hard part was keeping the ninja or galka from going to the Princess, or the whm curing my pld/war (full defender, reprisal etc. used only one weapon skill to help recover hp). The third guy kept getting taken out by the Galka's weapon skill several times and was weakend for most of it. Only had skirmish gear and skirmish sword +1 at the time, and the Sch was the most difficult one with Kaustra every now and then. Once he's dead everything is a cake walk. Eitherway that was a verry good whm, who managed to keep just enough mp to keep me cured for the whole 26 minutes. (considering I dont really play pld)

Last november in a 6 man party with two plds.. that's when the Sch went nutz with spamming kaustra way more often. Trying to pick off single mobs from the pld to kill was not easy. They would run back to him when the Sch started a Skill chain. It seems the target is who ever is at the top of that mobs hate list when a weapon skill is started, then others will run over to chain with them. It was harder and most of us died near the end because of to many people needing to be cured from the Galkas weapon skill. Its probably better to have just one good main tank (and possible backup), and a dedicated whm on each tank. Everyone else should support the princess, whm, and go after who ever leaves the pld to go after either one. Alternatively use a mage, ranged, or pet job to assist the pld by taking out the blm. Then work on the kill order, while pld does whatever is needed to keep the most hate among all mobs, especially the sch
