Hello,
I frequently see people post about LSs on the General Discussion forum and get redirected to server forums.
However, the server forums don't seem to get nearly as much traffic as the General Discussion forum.
Since the general population has been declining, it becomes harder and harder to foster connections, both in and out of the game.
Would it then be more helpful to maybe have a LS thread stickied on General Discussion forum? It seems a popular enough discussion to warrant this being useful.
In general, consolidating the large amounts of compartmentalization might be a good idea at this point, but that can be a discussion for another day.
Anyways, what do you think?

I think this is a good idea. The server forums are just too quiet and with the community getting smaller, it would probably be beneficial for everyone if there were a stickied thread for an active LS list where people who are forming, recruiting and seeking can post. I feel like a lot of new and returning players leave shortly after starting because they're unable to establish the social aspect of the game these days. Everyone is already high level and without a LS invitation, getting started can be a lonely proposition. Having a stickied LS thread on the main page could be beneficial for the community of the game itself and not just those seeking linkshells on ZAM.
So, I see that this thread was basically a dud, but I just reactivated despite everyone telling me the game is in decline and I am willing to switch to ANY server to participate in an active LS. I'm a very easy going guy, usually down for anything in game. I never bug my LS for a lot of help or anything; I just like being able to participate and have some friendly chatter while I play. I'm pretty much up to speed and pretty helpful when it comes to everything pre-VW/SoA and I should learn the new content pretty quickly. I've got a pretty well geared BLU and THF and I'm working on NIN since reactivating. Please, if anyone on ANY server is willing to have me, just send me a PM and I would be thrilled to join you in game. I'm located EST, but I play randomly at all hours, depending on my RL schedule. I guess I would most frequently be on nights, evenings and late nights, EST.
I think most people just happen on a linkshell when they start playing.
There are a growing amount of players who don't use linkshells at all for various reasons.but the link I posted below might help you to narrow your search if your looking for something in particular.

I never even knew that existed! That's pretty cool! It says the server is down at the moment, so I can't experiment too much at the moment, but is there a way to communicate with members of LSs you don't currently belong too? (ei if you are seeking membership to an existing LS?)

Ok, is it just me, or does finding a LS feel like finding a real life job? >< It seems like most of the LSs I find only have like 2 to 5 people in it, and the ones that have a decent size are either inactive or end game only. sheesh this is tough!

I just started this game after hearing wonders about it. It took some time to get used to it [actually, it took a long time], but I'm loving it. The only problem is that I just feel so lonely playing it.

This is exactly why there should be a LS thread in the general discussion forum.
All of us in this thread could have already linked up on the same server and been playing together, but instead we're all on separate servers now, complaining about the same problems.
