hey guys, played from 2004 til around 2009.although truth be told i didnt.really get to sea, just hung around in sky and some wotg areas. had blm rdm sam war and mnk to 7, and goldsmithing to 70-ish. rrally miss the partying. however, kinda bummed that i didnt manage to complete the cop, toa and wotg storylines. just wondering if playing casually could allow me to breeze through these? also, how difficult it is to get the new ws? i rmb the dynamis wpns were taking up to 10months to complete in 2006/7 and tons of money. lastly, what would be a decent job that could last me through all the content? i was soloing pretty well on my blm and rdm. before i left e game, i was working on dnc. thanks in advance!

Everything that existed before the level cap was raised beyond 75 is pretty casual now, and almost all of it can be done solo including CoP missions (which no longer have a level cap).

I'd say it's almost too casual-friendly now, as it tore up a lot of linkshells due to lack of any serious content, and people are finding it difficult to get organized now that there's some proper endgame content again in Seekers of Adoulin.

As for jobs, BLM is still strongly in demand for party content. RDM is still a good solo job. If you want to focus on your RDM for soloing the content that can be solo'd, and your BLM for content that requires group play, that would be a good combination. DNC is also a very strong solo job. Neither RDM or DNC are used in group content, however.

RDM is very important for many Delve NMs.

I haven't seen a single RDM in any of my groups...

i was actually thinking of bst! never got the chace to try it.

p.s. wrt rdm and blm, now.that lvl cap.is above 75, does that mean any class can get convert and refresh? doesnt that make dm kinda pointless?

RDM picked up Refresh II, and still has many good merit spells.

A bunch of new gear and abilities have helped to eliminate/reduce mp management, but until Adoulin, the most prevalent end game content (Abyssea, Voidwatch) required almost no mp management and everything was immune to enfeebles, so RDM had no place whatsoever.

Delve has introduced new NMs that require enfeebles and sometimes magic damage, so RDM can help there. I was seeing a lot of people using at least 1 RDM in newer content simply to support their PLDs, but I think people are finding that to be unnecessary again.

I like having a RDM in the ally if I can swing it. The "tricks" to some of the Delve NMs are related to enfeebles and some of the NMs are quite resistant. Also, RDMs provide great support, as /SCH sublimation may not always cut it.

RDMs are there for debuffs, since they actually land now. Gravity II is especially useful for helping with acc problems. Other than that the rdm can be used for support stuns or back up cures.
