final fantasy xi xbox pol issue Follow

hi i just recently bought final fantasy xi seekers of adoulin ultimate collections edition for xbox360 i am set up to the point where i can try to play the game, i say try because as i start the process to play it i have to update to the latest files needed to play its ok updating until half way through when i keep getting a pol 250 error{ can not respond to network please check cable and or network settings} can anyone help me with this?

thank you very much i found out you dont really have to manually open or close the nots and that its what stages you have your internet going through. look at this link i found it maybe for guardians of middle earth but it still was helpful for me i was able to start playing by following the example of the scenarios near the bottom of the page.
