Will Seekers bring a level cap increase?Follow

I believe that Seekers must bring a level cap increase. Why do I think this? Well Blue Mages for starters, should be getting new spells. I see several new mobs shown in the screen shots which should mean new spells to learn. To me this means new levels. Another reason is that with only 2 new jobs introduced, We will see 99 Rune fencers and Geomancers within 5-6 hours of the job quests being found and solved. It may take slightly longer, but I can see it happening. I know SE perviously stated the most lame reason possible for us not being able to hit 100+. That the GUI would not go to 3 characters, but come on, that jus sounds lame. With the PS2 support being dropped it's time to unleash havoc and let us go 100+

I know people may not want the level cap increased, but is there any real reason to for it not to be raised?

There will not be a level cap increase. Something as significant as that would have been announced already.

PS2 support is not being dropped, but it is being left behind slowly. You will still be able to buy Seekers for PS2 in Japan.

I don't really see how this is a reason...

Highly doubt we will be seeing a level cap increase any time soon. Blu mages have gotten new spells without a level cap increase back at 75. Also ps2 is not being dropped, just seekers will not be released outside of Japan so ps2 will be supported at least to the end of SOA.

Wrong question, the issue is why would a cap rise be useful?

Look at post-75. What's changed? Nothing, frankly, except jobs got a few more skills many of which were 'meh' at best. The content post-75 could have been created for level 75. Your suggestion that BLU needs a level cap raise to be able to learn new spells is clearly wrong, since many skills were added at 75 with merits, so adding new BLU spells could be done the same way.

Lastly, given all the discussion SE engaged in when they raised the cap to 99 it seems totally implausible the cap will rise again in the foreseeable future, otherwise this new expac will get obsoleted not long after its release: and no, the cap is not going to rise in March!

In the past, when new jobs were released, the more hardcore among us would gather their sycophants and mules and burn said new jobs to cap in a matter of hours as well. It wasn't 5-6, but it didn't take them long.

All I suspect that Seekers will bring is the long promised third tier set of merits.

Blue has long gotten new spells without new levels. I don't see any problem a level cap increase would solve - but it would create a whole bunch of new problems. My impression is that SE is currently working on fixing existing job balance and mechanics issues as well as creating a spectrum of end game gear for people to work towards - both of those endeavors would be threatened by a level cap increase.

We just were given a bunch of endgame tuned for 99 with gear for level 99 chars - if they did a level cap increase either the new gear for higher levels would have lackluster stats, or it would negate the need to go after the best of 99 gear - thus making all their most recent content instantly obsolete.

I don't see that happening.
