Hi there, i may be deciding to play here soon on ffxi. was wondering what server would be best to join? :)
Pretty much all the servers will be the same. There isn't one I could personally suggest that I think would be more "new player" friendly than any of the others. The experience will be pretty much the same on all of them.

You might want to look around the forums for a new-player friendly linkshell and join that server. A reasonable active linkshell is probably the best asset a new player can have.
Pick a server based on joining an LS. For reals.
