Ah okay you do have the variation that includes a discrete video card.

However, if Direct X is trying to run off the Intel graphics, that means either 1. They forgot to install your video card or 2. They forgot to install the video card drivers.

I'd look at the invoice they sent you with your PC model and see if they were supposed to include that AMD card. Either way, this issue has to be resolved via HP tech support. Call 800-474-6836 and have your serial number (on the bottom of the laptop on a sticker) ready to go.
