You'll want to pick up the other expansions and add-ons. While it is possible to level up in the other areas past 75 without access to Abyssea, it'll be slow given that people will choose Abyssea parties over more "traditional" parties, so most of your exping would probably be done alone. Not to mention you'll want Abyssea for the sake of Empyrean gear and other assorted equipment that comes from the area, which are quite important pieces to have if you want to try your hand at some of the other content currently out like Voidwatch and Legion.

Fortunately, there are bundle packs containing all the expansions and add-ons that you can download or purchase for extremely cheap (like $20 for everything), so it's not anywhere near as expensive to get them now as opposed to back when you had to buy each of them separate.

The key thing is you need to add the code to your existing account. Don't do what a friend of mine did and use the code to create a brand new account! But yes, it will then unlock the rest of the content for your existing account, allowing you to use your current character.

I believe that you should be able to without any problems. I know for a fact you can do that with the three add-ons and the three Abyssea minis because those you would have automatically downloaded if you did an update on the game recently, since they were automatically bundled in with the content updates that came with them. You just needed to purchase the registration codes to activate the content. Now with Wings of the Goddess and any other full expansions, those will have to be downloaded.

Correct. The addons are Vision of Abyssea, Scars of Abyssea, and Heroes of Abyssea.

Then there's A Crystalline Prophecy, A Moogle Kupo D'etat, and A Shantotto Ascension but those are regarded by more than a few to be....politely put....bombs.
