My initial point, which seems to have been lost in all this arguing over gimpness, was that you can go into Konschtat with 0 KIs for the set, farm the pop set while getting !!s and drops and abyssites and atma off each NM, and finish it off with a fight against EE, all in the space of 2 hours, without even bothering to farm up time.

If your just useing one person to melee it till discernment happens your doing it wrong. Same thing with any of them. My group hardly ever farms time when killing nms and we can make any pop within 30 min easy.

Not only am i not the only, or even the worst one in this thread, all of my posts about catwho have been in response to someone else, who was even worse than i was.

I'm sorry, i am simply calling it how i see it. Anyone who is surprised that cat took 2 hours to get VV has not been paying much attention here. She is not a very good player, nor is her group very good either.

But yeah, i'm the one at fault here, not alo.

We're clearly not talking about anything even remotely related to Atma Farming, we're only discussing how long it takes to farm the atma off of VV.

This is what is slowly killing ffxi.alla. You can't find the real/interesting info in between the people trolling each other about who plays ffxi the best, while the mods ride the fence and try to appease everyone. At least BG knows what it is and moderates based on that. Either you welcome Rog trolling everyone who plays at less than his efficiency or you don't. Make a call please.

This thread used to be about how someone can most effectively farm atma...now it's about who farms them the best, while the mods make halfassed excuses for the people being attacked rather than properly defend them.

OP:

Generally the easiest way to farm Atma is to farm the pop KIs ahead of time with a group of 2-4 (depending on what jobs are available), and then shout in Port Jeuno once you have the full set, claiming an item or two for your group only to lot on (since you did all the work farming the set).

You can also just shout and get the KIs after you've built your alliance, but personally I hate running large groups, so once I have the pop set I build the group, get in, get the Atma, and get out.

The whole derail started when someone assumed that we took two hours to simply kill one NM, despite the fact that said NM rages after one hour anyway....
