At least Add effect is clear, wtf does "Regain" mean? Do you just equip the thing and get 3tp/tick..?

Terror is just basically the same thing as stun..Doesn't seem too special. The Regain thing has me interested though.

Man those shadowlord pieces are nuts. There's gotta be something downright awful about him to warrant those kinds of rewards. SE wouldn't give up regain without a serious fight. XD
Getting to him, or killing him, or getting the drops (or all of the above)... something's gonna be just awful.

They shoulda let ShadowSanta bring all the kids uber toys this Patchmas, not just the spoiled kids who have too many toys already. >:P (Though I did get a kick out of the SAM poster who was happy that the new pieces meant not having to switch between TP and WS gear for YGK. XD)

I'd say those jobs are lucky to get such awesome items from that fight, but man... I really gotta wonder what the catch is for those things.

Means as soon as you swing the sword once, it goes back to it's owner and you gotta go and "regain" it off the ShadowLord. :P

From the campaign ops I saw, there's a splitting heirs / cracking shells / plucking wings type bc in zvahl where you fight the shadowlord. Good luck doing that. And I think that whoever called it on the first page can start gloating now?

Pretty much all the new ops are northlands, that's...eww, sucks to run around there.

So, Uriel Blade was obviously known to be one of the WS's we could access. Glory Slash makes sense to.
But this...

Kayeel-Payeel(The user for Tarturs Torpor, and holder of Claustrum) uses a Staff.
Mnk has skill. Whm, Blm, Pld, Brd, Smn, Sch have skill.
Rdm has 0 staff skill. Rng has 0 staff skill. Blu has 0 staff Skill. Pup has 0 staff skill.

The damage is way to high to be a Club, and that is the only other weapon every job listed has in common. This is just a really odd addition. I know I know, Pup on Hope Staff, but still, this makes no sense. Barring any bizarre merits, a Pup holding this could get 114 staff skill by subbing Pld at 75, which obviously isn't enough to like, Hit things.

I just really don't get this at all. Kind of hoped Leonine Legsflail would be added to weapon for Mnk/Pup, Bloody Quarrel for Rng/Thf/Cor etc. Maybe more to come, who knows.

But Torpor just makes zero sense.

That Mercurial Spear looks kind of cool, but I can't think of a single time I would use it, unless I was /Dnc on War or Drg.

EDIT: Forgot some stuff.
You have Veldt Axe +1 on weapons list, but that actually came last patch. Not that big of a deal obviously, and I'm sure you would have caught it soon enough. Was wondering if they had just not released the HQ last time around...

Also, awesome that they are adding even more past FF weapons to the game. SoulSaber(Which, weirdly enough, was one of two options for my new name on Cerberus) is from FFTA(2), and Salamand Sword was, as earliest as I remember, from FFIII(And was awesome for Warrior in that game). Also, from Magian weapons, Cat's Claws is from FFTA(maybe earlier).

Lot of cool new items coming, but I don't know how much use I will personally get from any of them, or if I'll ever even see half of them. My jobs, for the most part, are kind of left out in the cold.

I do hope the Magian system ends up very cool, as the H2H items listed at least are very weird as base weapons. Polearms are very odd as well. Here's to hoping everything works out great.

Wonder if they'll let you keep your existing emperor/empress band and have this too. In either case, this could definitely make those impending TNL levels easier to take.

Some very sexy gear there, SE seems to be +1ing most of the "limits" on equip (+5 stat on rings is now +6, adding +6% haste to head and +1% to neck, etc).

That being said....


BLU/NIN dual-wielding both swords in campaign = winwinwin

I'm pretty frightened as too what SE is going to require for us to get these wickedly good items.

Shadowlord should be fun. Maybe the server mergers were being done just to have enough players to take him down in campaign lol.

The rings may end up being a final WoTG reward. While not as good as Rajas/Tamas, they are no worse than ToAU rings and maybe they let you pick two?

Like the Allied Ring which I suspect will be the reward for getting the highest campaign medal.

This ring gets me very excited, especially considering the level grind to get all those subjobs to 49, not to mention one's main job to 99! The question for me is mainly how this ring will be obtainable, and how the charge cooldown will work. It should be easier to obtain this than the 66,000 EXP Kupofried Ring, right? Hmmm...

Something tells me that "A Stygian Pact" quest you have listed is more of an "Apocalypse Nigh" style quest, sort of finishing the ToAU story. It seems more working for Odin to accomplish something else, instead of acquiring him as an avatar.

Just my take on it, anyway.

Except the final WotG reward won't be here until September when they finish the WotG missions. So nothing here is the final WotG reward.

Or a WotG mission reward, perhaps. My guess is that it works like Ducal Guard's Ring from CoP. 5/5 uses, once you use all 5 it's worthless.

Am I missing something in the Shadowlord gear? The body/head both look like sidegrades to the current HNM gear except for PLD and maybe SAM or DRG. The only thing I'm not sure about is the G.Sword since I've never taken DRK to 75.
