Not for nothing, jtf, but you might want to check out sirtebian's posting history, particularly in the Sylph forums. I'm not saying that the online radio thing isn't cool, but it's about his only redeeming value on this site (IMO). Of course, you could make the argument that I don't have any redeeming value, so there's always that, but I just thought you should know that one of the people you're seeming to side with is probably as bad as the people you purport to dislike.

In all fairness, nobody is going to be happy if we actually made a flamefest thread about this in The Asylum. I guarantee it will just be an angry ******** telling us to go back to forum=10.

The Neispace of Doom posted (in reference to victrola's nomination) how he thought it was ridiculous that people could get nominated on the basis of being trolls and some people replied to him defending that.

So I said that if the idea of the contest was to vote for pointless trolls who act like ***** all the time then Nilatai should win hands down and I voted for you.

funny how this thread is to vote for the person of the month and it comes done to the click ranting and raving on anyone they do not like and spamming up the system even more, i really did think allakhazam had got past this stuff

i would vote for nil on the basis of his "current work" in the monk thread period guys if he had not been such a spammer over the years, since he dont have his own thing up there there should be just one link and not to a single post but to a whole section of the forums, look at the good work that he has put in here in the monk section.. that is why should vote for him.. (if you didnt know the fool for 5 years like i have)

Read any topic here in recent history to see why you should vote for nil and give him recognition for changing to great assets to the forums and FFXI in general.

Maybe you should nominate these better-deserving candidates, and give them a good writeup in the voting thread then. I mean, I generally vote for the poster whose contributions I am familiar with. Half the time, nominations don't even have relevant threads or posts linked, so if you're not already familiar with the poster, you may not even see what they've done. Nil happens to have high visibility on =10, as well as having contributed greatly to job forums that I frequent. So, I voted for him. I don't always vote for the poster with the highest name recognition, it just so happened that I did this time.

You can complain all you want, but if some "Player of the Month" contest on a video game message board really gets you that up in arms about the so-called forum clique, you should probably take a step back and try to gain some perspective. There may be somewhat of a clique on here amongst the most active posters, but the fact that they post frequently and therefore interact with each other more often than the less active posters naturally leads to people voting for their "friends." However, there is every opportunity for newer and lesser-known posters to step up and contribute to the forums. Plenty of low postcount posters have been rated up to Excellent for the quality of their posts. It's really not that hard to gain "acceptance."

Of the people nominated, none were really great candidates. Kenage maybe but I've never really seen him/her post outside of job forums.
